Jon Tumilson Go Crush It 5K Challenge

🏅 Race Overview

This run honors Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson who was KIA on August 6, 2011 while serving in Afghanistan. All proceeds from the race will support Retrieving Freedom, Inc. to provide service dogs to our veterans.

🌟 About Jon Tumilson

• Background: Navy Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Jon Thomas "JT" Tumilson was killed alongside 29 other Americans and 1 service dog on August 6, 2011.
• Memorial Foundation: His family founded 3 Minutes Out, Inc., a non-profit to assist active duty military, veterans, and their families.
• Passion for Running: Jon had a love for life, and running was one of his favorite activities.
• Encouragement: The annual 5K run and walk encourages people of all fitness levels to honor his memory by staying active.

🏃‍♂️ Event Details

When you register, we encourage you to create team names. We will again be awarding an award for the largest Corporate Team and the largest Family Team, so grab your friends, family, and coworkers and join us for a fun race day.

• Virtual Run: For those unable to attend, run on the same day in honor of JT.
• Registration Deadline: Any registrations received after Sunday, July 13, 2025, will NOT be guaranteed a race shirt.
• Shirt Pickup: Shirts not picked up on race day will not be mailed unless prior arrangements have been made.

📅 Schedule

• Sunday July 13, 2025: Last day to register to guarantee a race t-shirt.
• Friday July 25, 2025: 4:00-6:30 pm Race Registration and Packet Pick Up at Rockford Fossil and Prairie Park, Rockford IA.
• Saturday July 26, 2025:
  • 6:30-7:45 am Race Registration and Packet Pick Up.
  • 8:00 am Opening Ceremony.
  • 8:30 am Jon Tumilson Go Crush It 5K Challenge Start.
  • 9:30 am Jon Tumilson Frogman Fun Run Start.
• 10:00 am Awards Ceremony.
• 11:30 am Rockford Fun Days Parade with activities and lunch available for purchase.

🛍️ Merchandise Information

REMINDER...Jon Tumilson memorial gear will ONLY be available to purchase during packet pick up on Friday and during the race on Saturday. We will NOT have a booth this year downtown in the park following the race.
