• Date: Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th, 2026

Lt. Maynard's Challenge

• Overview: Participants will complete either the Scallywag 5K or 10K on Saturday AND the Blackbeard's Half Marathon on Sunday.
• Award: Unique finisher item for all Lt. Maynard's Challenge finishers.
• Registration: Must select this option during half marathon registration and sign up for either the 5K or 10K.
• Bragging Rights: Complete the challenge to earn bragging rights!

Beneficiaries

• Support: This event benefits Ocracoke Community Radio WOVV.
• Clubs: Proceeds also support Ocracoke School Athletic Boosters Club and Ocracoke Community Park.
• Community Impact: Your participation helps fund vital community services on the island.

Packet Pickup

• Location: 1718 Brewery
• Dates: Friday, April 24th, 5-7:30 PM
• Saturday Morning: 6:30-7:30 AM (5K/10K)
• Half Marathon: 5-7:30 PM on Saturday, April 25th - No Same Day Packet Pick-up!

Fees

• 5K/10K: $35 until January 14th (ages 17 & under - $20)
• January 16th - March 14th: $40 (ages 17 & under - $20)
• March 16th - April 23rd: $45 (ages 17 & under - $25)
• Race Weekend: $50 (ages 17 & under - $25)

Half Marathon Fees

• Until January 14th: $60
• January 16th - March 14th: $65
• March 16th - April 23rd: $75
• Race Weekend: $80

Registration Perks

• Shirts: Runners receive high quality, quick dry t-shirts.

• Size Guarantee: Sizes guaranteed if registered before April 3rd.

Start Times

• 5K/10K: Registration/check-in at 6:30 AM, race starts at 8:00 AM.
• Half Marathon: Registration/check-in at 6:30 AM, race starts at 7:00 AM (cut-off at 11:00 AM).

Awards

• 5K/10K: Awards at 10:00 AM for top 3 male & female and age group finishers.
• Half Marathon: Awards at 11:00 AM for top overall and age group finishers.

Post Run Party

• Location: 1718 Brewery
• Timing: Saturday 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM & Sunday 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM.
• Age Restriction: 21 or older for beer, ID checks required.

Important Notes

• Walkers: Both runs are open to walkers and running strollers.
• Stroller Policy: Strollers must start behind runners and walkers.
• Pets: NO pets allowed other than service dogs.
• Transportation Restrictions: NO bikes or skateboards allowed.
