TCU Theta CASA 5K

🏃‍♀️ Race Overview

• Date: Sunday, September 14th, 2025
• Time: 8:30 a.m.
• Location: Frog Fountain, TCU Commons, Fort Worth, TX
• Support: TCU Theta members will cheer on participants at each station along the route.

🌟 Event History

• Team Tribute: The Gamma Psi chapter of KAO holds this annual 5K in memory of Tracy Clark, class of 1993.
• First Event: Tracy's idea for a 5K led to the first Breakaway event in 1997.
• In Honor: The event was renamed in Tracy's honor in 1999 after her tragic passing.
• Beneficiaries: Funds raised support CASA of Tarrant County and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.

🤝 CASA and Its Mission

• Official Philanthropy: Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity adopted National CASA in 1989.
• Volunteer Role: CASA volunteers represent abused and neglected children in the court system.
• Support System: Advocates provide judges with information that helps determine what is best for the child.
• Legal Aid: CASA helps expedite the legal process to ensure children have a chance at childhood.

🎓 Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation

• Mission: Supports educational, leadership, and philanthropic pursuits of Kappa Alpha Theta members.
• Empowerment: Resource securing to help Thetas reach their full potential and impact the world.
• Theta for Good: Program enabling fundraising for the Foundation and other charitable causes.
• Giving Back: Encourages chapters to support local communities and create meaningful change.
