🌟 Event History
Memory: The Gamma Psi chapter of KAO holds an annual 5K run in memory of Tracy Clark, a member of the class of 1993.
First Event: Tracy's idea for a 5K led to the first Breakaway event in 1997.
Renaming: The event was renamed in her honor in 1999 after her tragic passing in an automobile accident.
Beneficiaries: Funds raised support CASA of Tarrant County and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.
👩⚖️ CASA Overview
Adoption: In 1989, Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity adopted National CASA as its official philanthropy.
Role: CASA volunteers are trained community volunteers who speak on behalf of abused and neglected children in the court system.
Impact: Advocates provide valuable information to the judges about what is best for the child.
Goal: They help expedite the legal process to ensure these children still have a chance at childhood.
🎓 Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation
Support: The Foundation supports the educational, leadership, and philanthropic pursuits of Kappa Alpha Theta members.
Empowerment: Its mission is to secure resources that empower Thetas to reach their full potential.
Theta for Good: This program enables college chapters to fundraise for the Foundation and other charitable causes.
