TCU Theta CASA 5K

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

• Date: Sunday, September 14th, 2025
• Time: 8:30 a.m.
• Location: Frog Fountain in the TCU Commons
• Cheer Stations: Each station along the route will be filled with TCU Theta members to cheer on the participants.

💖 Memorial Background

• Honoree: The race is held in memory of Tracy Clark, a member of the class of 1993.
• Origin: Tracy's idea for a 5K led to the first Breakaway event in 1997.
• Legacy: The event was renamed in her honor in 1999 after her tragic passing.
• Beneficiaries: Proceeds from the race benefit CASA of Tarrant County and the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation.

👶 CASA Program

• Adoption: Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity adopted National CASA as its official philanthropy in 1989.
• Volunteer Role: CASA volunteers are trained community advocates for abused and neglected children.
• Judicial Support: Advocates provide valuable information to judges regarding the best interests of children.
• Legal Process: They help expedite legal processes to ensure children have a chance at a happy childhood.
