Joplin Turkey Trot

🦃 Race Overview

Welcome to the 14th Annual Joplin Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk in Downtown Joplin presented by Freeman Health System! Runners and walkers are encouraged to join us on Thanksgiving morning for what has become a family tradition for many. This CERTIFIED 5K course begins and ends right in front of the Schroeder Family Exploreum, which is closed to traffic. Participants of the 5K will enjoy:

• Event Shirt: Participants will receive a super soft event shirt.
• Finish Medal: Enjoy an AMAZING FINISHER MEDAL.
• Chip Timing: Chip timing provided for all registered 5K participants by Heartland Racing Co.
• Entertainment: Music by Resonation and announcing by BoCa Enterprises.

⏰ Race Schedule

• 1 Mile Fun Run Start Time: 7:30am
• 5K Start Time: 8:00am
• Packet Pick-Up: Early packet pick-up on November 26 from 11AM-6PM.
• Late Packet Pick-Up: Available on race day from 6:30 am until race start.

👕 Event Shirts

Event shirts will be guaranteed for 5K participants registered by November 14. After this date, shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Participants in the 1 Mile Fun Run may add a shirt for just $10 until November 14.

🍩 Post-Race Goodies

Runners will enjoy:

• Donuts: Delicious treats available post-race.
• Coffee: Refreshing coffee served to participants.

🏆 Awards

Awards will be given for 5 year age category increments, with prizes for:

• Overall Winners: Overall male and female in the 5K.
• Age Categories: Prizes for age categories including 12 and under, 13-19, up to 70+.

🎧 Event Experience

Enjoy a lively atmosphere with:

• DJ: A professional DJ will keep the energy high throughout the event.
• Photographer: Capturing your finish, with all photographs available for free download.

🏃‍♀️ 1 Mile Fun Run

Fun Run participants under the age of 12 will receive a finisher's medal, with post-race snacks and festivities. Please note:

• Shirts: Fun Run registration does NOT include a shirt, but it may be purchased additionally.

❓ FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions:

• Strollers: Yes! Strollers are welcome on the course.
• Pets: Well-behaved, leashed dogs are allowed on the race course.
• Parking: Main Street from 2nd to 7th will be closed: parking available on Joplin Avenue and Virginia Avenue.
• Weather Policy: The race will proceed rain or shine: only severe weather (lightning) will cause a delay.
