The Boiling Pot 5K gets its name from the Iroquois origin of “Canajoharie,” which is believed to mean “the pot that washes itself.” This refers to the Canajoharie Boiling Pot—a circular gorge in Canajoharie Creek located just south of the village. If you haven’t seen it before, it’s definitely worth a visit! You can access it at the end of Floral Avenue in the Village of Canajoharie.
The BP5K awards unique handcrafted trophies featuring rocks collected from the Boiling Pot section of the Canajoharie Creek Gorge.
Come out and join us for a summer evening of fun. The 5K is open to all age groups, unique awards will be given to the top male & female finisher in each age group. T-shirts provided to the first 100 registrants for the 5K. Our event starts at 6:00 p.m. starting with the kid's fun run which is totally free. The 5K starts shortly after the kids run finishes up.
