🏃‍♂️ The Boiling What?

The Boiling Pot 5K gets its name from the Iroquois origin of “Canajoharie,” which is believed to mean “the pot that washes itself.” This refers to the Canajoharie Boiling Pot—a circular gorge in Canajoharie Creek located just south of the village. If you haven’t seen it before, it’s definitely worth a visit! You can access it at the end of Floral Avenue in the Village of Canajoharie.

🏆 Run For What Rock?

The BP5K awards unique handcrafted trophies featuring rocks collected from the Boiling Pot section of the Canajoharie Creek Gorge.

🤝 Why Should I Help?

• Community support: The Boiling Pot 5K is a community fundraiser to benefit the Community Youth Center Inc.
• Life-enriching activities: C.Y.C Inc. provides life-enriching, affordable activities in a safe environment to 300 youths from 5 local municipalities.
• Partnership: This year we're partnering with NBT Bank and closing off Mohawk Street to allow for an expanded start/finish area and plenty of parking.
• Registration: Registration and packet pick up will be at NBT bank at 20 Mohawk St., Canajoharie.

🎉 Event Details

• Timing: The event starts at 6:00 p.m. starting with the kid's fun run which is totally free.
• 5K start: The 5K starts shortly after the kids run finishes up.
• Age groups: Unique awards will be given to the top male & female finisher in each age group.
• T-shirts: T-shirts provided to the first 100 registrants for the 5K.

💰 Entry Fees

• 5K Entry Fee: $20 before 8/15 and $25 day of race.
• Kids Run: Free: registration form must be completed and signed by parent.
• Donations: Donations are accepted and volunteers are always welcome.
• Support: Come out and support your local community center!
