Join us for the Ben Campbell Memorial 5K on September 6, 2025 at 750 E Delaware Avenue, Newark, DE. This event is not just a race but a celebration of a remarkable life and legacy.

🌟 About Ben Campbell

• Legacy: Benjamin Cole Campbell was a go-getter, destined for greatness, and though he’s no longer with us, we pledge to keep his legacy alive forever.
• Memorial Fund: The Benjamin Campbell Memorial Fund has been established to help other students achieve. Ben's journey is a reminder that given the opportunity, with hard work and focus, you can achieve.

❤️ Ben's Journey

• Childhood Challenges: Ben’s childhood was challenging as his mother, Carla, fought a long battle with Leukemia.
• Support System: He and his siblings were enrolled at Milton Hershey School, where Ben found an anchor in football.
• High School Experience: After returning home, he excelled at Newark High School, making new friends and becoming captain of the football team.
• Academic Pursuits: Ben continued his education at Wesley College and later at Widener Law School, graduating with honors.

🎓 Accomplishments

• Law School Graduate: Ben graduated from Widener Law School in May of 2021 with honors.
• Work Ethic: He passed the Bar exam and was employed by Baird Mandalas Brockstedt and Federico LLC full time.
• Determination: Despite his circumstances, Ben exemplified grit and determination throughout his life.

💔 Tragic Loss

• Upcoming Marriage: Ben was engaged to his high school sweetheart, Shannon, with plans to marry on October 7, 2023.
• Unexpected Tragedy: On July 29, eight weeks before his wedding, Ben was tragically killed in an accident.
• Community Impact: The loss left family and friends grieving, asking why this happened.

🎉 Event Details

• Post-Race Celebration: A post-race after party will be held at Deer Park Tavern starting at 10:30 am.
• Fundraising: There will be raffles and donation opportunities to raise money for the Ben Campbell Memorial Fund.
• Teams: Participants can form teams from Newark High School Alumni, Milton Hershey School Alumni, Wesley Alumni, and more.
• Participation: Everyone is welcome, regardless of ability. Join us to celebrate Ben’s life!
