Join us for the Ben Campbell Memorial 5K on September 12, 2026, at 750 E Delaware Avenue, Newark, DE. The legacy of Benjamin Cole Campbell, a determined individual who faced great challenges, lives on through this event.
About Ben Campbell
- Background: Ben's mother, Carla, battled Leukemia for many years, affecting his childhood.
- Milton Hershey School: Enrolled with his siblings as a hope for family reunification.
- Football: A major part of Ben's life that helped him focus and stay disciplined.
- Education: Ben graduated from Wesley College and later from Widener Law School with honors.
Ben's Accomplishments
- Law School: Completed with honors and worked hard to pass the Bar exam.
- Career: Hired full-time by Baird Mandalas Brockstedt and Federico LLC after passing the Bar.
- Engagement: Engaged to his high school sweetheart, Shannon, with a wedding planned for October 7, 2023.
- Community: Devoted to helping others, reflecting his character and values.
Tragic Loss
On July 29, tragedy struck as Ben was taken from us just eight weeks before his wedding. His passing left a void and many unanswered questions.
The Memorial Fund
- Purpose: The Ben Campbell Memorial Fund aims to support others in accordance with Ben's wishes.
- Celebration: We invite everyone to celebrate Ben's life and raise funds for the Memorial Fund.
- Event Details: The 5K starts and ends at Ben’s alma mater, Newark High School, welcoming participants of all abilities.
- Post-Race Party: Join us at Deer Park Tavern at 10:30 AM for raffles and fundraising opportunities.
Team Participation
Teams are formed for Newark High School Alumni, Milton Hershey School Alumni, Wesley Alumni, Delaware Law Alumni, ChristianaCare, and Baird, Mandalas, and Brockstedt & Federico LLC. Create an additional team during your registration if you wish.
