Lake Superior Shore Run

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Join us for our 32nd Annual Lake Superior Shore Run.

• Events Offered: Half Marathon, 5K, 1K Youth Trail Runs, 5 Mile Hike
• Location: Little Presque Isle on Lake Superior, ~5 miles north of Marquette, Michigan
• Accessibility: 3 hours from Green Bay & the Mackinac Bridge, 5 hours from Milwaukee, WI & Duluth, MN, and 8 hours north of Detroit, Michigan
• Date: September 12, 2025

🎽 Registration Details

Online registration runs through September 12, 2025 at midnight.

• Day Before Registration: 4 - 7 pm at South Beach, Marquette, MI
• Day of Registration: 8:15 am - 9:30 am at Little Presque Isle
• Additional Fees: Add five dollars to the rates for day before and day of registration.

🚗 Parking Information

• Carpool: We ask you to carpool to the race start/finish.
• Alternate Parking: Consider parking at Wetmore Landing and walk the mile to the start.
• Follow Directions: Please follow parking volunteers for assistance.
• No Parking: Do not park on County Road 550.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Location: South Beach on Lake Street in Marquette.
• Friday Hours: 4 pm - 7 pm, look for the white tent.
• Race Day Pickup: Starting at 8:15 am at Little Presque Isle.

🏁 Race Schedule

• Kids Race: 6:30 pm (Friday)
• Half-Marathon Start: 9:00 am
• 5 Mile Hike Start: 9:05 am
• 5K Run Start: 9:30 am

⏳ Race Cutoff and Safety

The Half-Marathon has a four hour time limit with a cutoff of 1:00 pm. Any runners not reaching the final aid station at Wetmore Landing by 12:15 pm will be asked to hand in their bibs.

• Safety Precaution: The time limit is to ensure runner safety. Cell service is almost non-existent on the course.

👶 Kids Race

The Upper Peninsula Health Plan Kids Race is at 6:30 pm on Friday, September 12, 2025. It starts and finishes at the South Beach Parking lot.

• Course: Out and back on the bike path.
• Race Type: Untimed, great chance for kids to experience racing.
• Finishers: All finishers will receive a medal.
• Cost: This race is free, supporting youth sports.

🅿️ Parking Pass Information

Please ensure you have a recreation passport to park in the Little Presque Recreation Area Parking Lot.

• Michigan Resident: $17 per vehicle
• Michigan Resident Motorcycle: $11 per vehicle
• Non-resident Annual: $34 per vehicle
• Non-resident Daily: $9 per vehicle
