Lake Placid Marathon and Half and 10K

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Date: June 14, 2026
• Start Time: 8am
• Cutoff Time: 2pm for both Marathon and Half
• Concurrent Event: 10K will run alongside

🌄 Course Details

• Route: Half Marathon is a single loop out and back: Marathon is a double out and back.
• Starting/Ending Point: Main St. in Lake Placid at the Olympic Speedskating Oval.
• Terrain: A combination of flat, rolling, and hilly sections with stunning mountain views.
• Scenery: Runners will enjoy open and shaded areas, a class III trout stream, and beautiful Mirror Lake.

🍉 Aid Stations and Course Limit

• Support: Well-stocked aid stations available throughout the course.
• Time Limit: Generous six (6) hour limit for each race.
• Finish Line: Athlete food provided at the Race Finish.
• Finisher Goods: Quality finisher medal and a 2026 race T-shirt.

• Ranking: Ranked #2 “Best Destination” Race in the USA by Runner’s World Magazine (Jan. 2010).
• Accessibility: Walker-friendly, ideal for team/group destination events.

👶 Age Restrictions

• Marathon Age Limit: Limited to those 16 years and older on race day.
• Parental Consent: In-person signature required for participants under 18.

• Donations: Entry fees include donations to the Lake Placid Junior Class and animal charities.
• Global Charities: Includes ACLU, Doctors Without Borders, and more.
• Check-off Charity: North Elba Christmas Fund available for a limited time.

📄 Registration and Insurance

• Transfers/Refunds: Not available: deferrals subject to approval and re-registration fee.
• Event Insurance: Recommended in case of inability to attend.
• Athlete Gifts: Not guaranteed for registrations after May 9, 2026: register early.
