Veterans Day Run/Walk

Event Overview

• Event Name: 11th Annual Veterans Day 5K

• Location: Soldier's Memorial, Downtown St. Louis
• Accessibility: Wheelchairs, strollers, and dogs are welcome on the race path.

Beneficiary Information

• Support for Veterans: All proceeds go to St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
• Impact: Last year, the agency assisted 4,223 clients, including 813 Veterans.
• Job Placement: They connected 89 veterans with jobs and placed 743 veterans and families in permanent housing.
• Programs: Several programs are dedicated to helping Veterans regain stability.

Project HERO

• Collaboration: Project HERO works in partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health and the U.S. Veterans Administration.
• Services Offered: The program includes mental health counseling, transportation access, and employment services.
• Facility: Housed at Freedom Place, a 50-unit apartment complex for male Veterans.
• Community Impact: Aims to improve the quality of life for Veterans experiencing homelessness and related issues.
