🏃‍♂️ Colton's Main Street Run

The date is set for the 15th annual Colton's Main Street Run. The Run is held in memory of Colton Sherrill, son of Trace and Dena Sherrill. The 10-year old athlete and Durant Main Street volunteer passed away 16 years ago while playing basketball from an unknown heart defect.

🎯 Proceeds Usage

• 165 AEDs purchased: For area schools and community, provided training and supplies.
• 415 Stop the Bleed Kits: Donated to area schools along with 74 LifeVac Choking Rescue Devices.
• Bleachers and benches: Purchased for sports fields and other equipment for Durant Sports Complex.
• $25,000 Donation: Towards county schools to purchase PPE and aiding in medical equipment purchases.

🤝 Community Impact

• Colton Sherrill Memorial Scholarship Fund: Endowed at Southeastern Oklahoma State University providing scholarships.
• Crooked Smile Trail: Created in partnership for cross-country teams and public well-being.
• ADA Wheelchair Swing Sets: Installed at Durant City Parks for accessibility.
• Main Street Revitalization: Significant volunteer hours and reinvestment in Durant Main Street.

💰 Grants and Support

In 2023, $102,000 in grants and community support were provided for health and safety projects in Oklahoma.
