Event Overview

Amigos De Bolsa Chica, in conjunction with Bolsa Chica State Beach is hosting a run/walk/beach cleanup. The categories include:

• 5K: Standard running category
• 10K: Longer running category
• 1K Fun Run: Short distance for kids and beginners
• Plogging: 5K and 10K options for picking up litter while jogging

The event is at Bolsa Chica State Beach, April 25, 2026, at 8:00 AM.

Course Details

Run and walk along the beach on a flat and fast course. Proceeds help the Amigos de Bolsa Chica's (a 501c3 non-profit established in 1976) efforts to offer environmental leadership roles to all by providing community-based education programs centered on the Bolsa Chica that create greater awareness of coastal California's threatened biodiversity.

Family-Friendly Expo

There is a family-friendly expo at the basketball courts with demonstrations, showing what Amigos de Bolsa Chica is all about.

• Microscope Demonstrations: Look at Bolsa Chica water samples through microscopes
• Wetlands Education:: Learn about the wetlands and the birds that visit
• Environmental Protection:: Explore what we can do to protect the environment

Event Schedule

Check in begins at 7 AM at the basketball courts at Bolsa Chica State Beach. The schedule is as follows:

• 5K and 10K: Begin at 8 AM
• Kids Fun Run: Starts at 9 AM

Race Highlights

• Course: All-American, flat and fast race course
• Timing: Chip timing for 5K and 10K run and plogging (not for the kids fun run)
• T-shirts: Race t-shirts guaranteed only for pre-registration by March 15
• Medal: Participation medal at the finish line
• Parking: Free parking at Bolsa Chica State Beach when in parking lot before 8 AM ($15 dollar value)
