Thanksgiving XC Classic 5K & 1.5 M Fun Run

Race Overview

• Date: November 26, 2026
• Location: 10 S Lakeshore Ln, Tucson, AZ
• Course: European style cross country course with hay bales on grass, dirt, and a little asphalt
• Start Time: Race day registration begins at 7am

Race Details

• Events: 5K race with separate categories for men and women, and a 1.5 mile fun run
• Loop Structure: The 5K is two loops: the 1.5 Mile course is one loop
• Strollers: Welcome with lanes provided to bypass hay bales
• Dogs: Not permitted for safety reasons

Registration & Packet Pickup

• In-Person Registration: Available at The Running Shop on 11/21/26 from 10am-5pm
• Additional Registration: Available on 11/23/26 to 11/25/26 from 10am-6pm
• Race Day Registration: Available at Reid Park starting at 7am

Awards

• 5K Awards: Overall male and female winners plus masters will receive Brooks running shoes
• Age Group Awards: Awards for various age categories including pies for second place and medals for third
• Fun Run Awards: Finishers will receive ribbons
• Team Division Awards: Teams of up to 7 members compete: top teams win awards

Community Involvement

• Beneficiary: Race supports Toys for Tots, Team Hoyt Arizona, and the Huntington's Disease Society of America
• Donation Opportunity: Consider donating a new, unwrapped toy
• Drop-off Locations: Donation boxes at The Running Shop and race morning at Reid Park
• Track Results: Teams will be announced on the SAR website upon confirmation
