About this race
Run for kids who can’t.
The Sheldon Shuffle Walk/Run 5K is more than a race — it’s your chance to step up for children at Exceptional Care for Children, Delaware’s only pediatric skilled nursing facility. Our kids face medical challenges that keep them from running alongside you, but your strides make sure they don’t miss out on the best parts of childhood.
Every dollar raised goes beyond medical basics — funding therapy, education, music, art, play, and moments of pure joy that Medicaid doesn’t cover. When you cross the finish line, you’re not just completing a 5K. You’re carrying our kids with you.
Join us for a morning of fitness, fun, and community pride right here in Newark. Together, we’ll show what’s possible when a community moves with heart.
Race perks:
- Official Race T-Shirt (guaranteed if registered by October 14th)
- Fresh Wawa soft pretzels at the finish line
- Chocolate Milk and Yogurt from Chesapeake Gold Farms
