The Lakefest Mike Hill 10k began in 1976. Mike Hill, HK Cooper, and Bill Magruder wanted a race included in the bicentennial celebration. Mike encouraged businesses and people throughout the community to get involved in the race.

• Renaming: Changed to Lakefest Mike Hill 10k after Mike's passing in 2007
• Added Distance: A 5k was added alongside the 10k
