🤝 Who We Are
The Friends of Wilton Recreation, Inc. has been formed to seek private funding to assist the Wilton recreation facilities and programs to benefit activities for all ages in our community.
- Mission: Our mission is to assist a Park and Recreation System which enriches the quality of life for residents and visitors alike and preserves it for future generations.
- Advocacy: Serving as an advocate for development outside the department’s budget.
- Community Relationships: Developing community relationships to support recreation programs.
- Holistic Development: Promoting development of the whole person, including respect for oneself and others.
🏞️ Ways Recreation Serves Our Community
Gavin Park is a central recreation complex for residents of the Town of Wilton and surrounding communities.
- Youth Activities: Gavin Park offers a myriad of youth activities, including an After School Program and Summer Day Camp.
- Sports Programs: Programs available for baseball, soccer, basketball, and pickleball, along with coaches’ clinics.
- Community Events: Hosting family celebrations like the Holiday Tree lighting and Community Day.
- Economic Impact: Regional athletic tournaments and events bring thousands of people to the area, supporting local businesses.
