Race Overview

• Date: Saturday January 10, 2026
• Event: Hilo to Volcano 50K Run/Walk/Relay
• Location: Start at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel on Banyan Drive
• Distance: 31 miles with a 4000 feet elevation gain

Start Times

• Solo Runners: Start is at 6:00 am.
• Relay Team Runners: Start is at 6:15 am.

Course Details

• Route: Utilizes shoulders on Hwy 11.
• Finish Line: At the Cooper Center in Volcano.
• Relay Change Points: Every 2 miles at even mile markers.
• Aid Stations: No aid stations provided, runners must bring their own hydration and nutrition.

Prizes

• Solo Runners: Top 3 Female and Male runners overall: Top 2 in each 10 year age group.
• Relay Teams: Top 2 Female, Male and Mixed teams up to 40 years: Top 2 “Masters” teams over 40 years.
• Family Relay Teams: Top 2 teams must be from the same family.
• Student Relay Teams: Top 2 teams must be high school students or younger.

Important Times

• Race Ends: 2pm.
• Packet Pickup: January 9, 2026 from 3-5:30pm and race morning from 5:30-5:50am.
• No Day of Race Registration: Sorry!
