Cape Fear River Run

Event Overview

Welcome to Fayetteville's newest running event! Runners wanted a longer event locally and here you go! This race will have three options: a 10k, a Half Marathon, and a River Rage Challenge where you can run both!

• Location: 536 N. Eastern Blvd, Fayetteville, NC

• Trail Feature: Cape Fear River Trail, a beautiful paved greenway along the river

Event Details

The start and finish line will be at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. There will be on course support. There will be no pets allowed at this event.

VIP Experience

This race will have an option to add on a VIP experience. Limited to 35 entrants.

• Private Tent: Heated tent for VIPs only
• Refreshments: VIP only refreshments
• Bag Storage: Secure bag storage for VIPs
• Early Pickup: VIP line for early packet pickup

10k Route

The 10k route will use part of the Linear Park Trail and the Cape Fear River Trail passing under one trail trestle.

• Distance: 10k
• Aid Station: Located at the turnaround point (2.83 miles)
• Race Cutoff: 8:30 AM (90 minutes)
• Pace Requirement: 14:29 minute mile pace

Half Marathon Route

The Half Marathon route (13.35 miles) will traverse the Cape Fear River Trail and pass under two covered trestles and past a waterfall.

• Distance: 13.35 miles
• Aid Stations: Located at Clark Park (approximately 3.1 and 10.37 miles) and at turnaround point (6.78 miles)
• Race Cutoff: 11:30 AM (3:15 hrs)
• Pace Requirement: 14:52 minute mile pace

River Rage Challenge

For those that want the extra challenge of the River Rage, you get to do both races!

• Race Order: Start with the 10k race and finish, then race the Half Marathon
• Bonus Medal: Finishers will receive a bonus challenge medal
• Timing: If you finish before the Half starts (8:00 AM), just wait and start with the crowd
• Continuation: If you finish after the Half starts, just continue running

Medals

Speaking of medals, we will have a medal tent near the finish line. So after you complete your race or races, proceed to the medal tent to collect your bling!

• Identifier: Help identify what medals you have earned
