Race Overview
Join us for fitness and Halloween fun in the 58th annual Carson Park 5 & 10, western Wisconsin's longest-running run/walk event!
Enjoy a challenging, scenic course in and around Carson Park! With the 10-mile course featuring the new stretch of trail between Rod and Gun Park and Carson Park.
Post-Race Fun
- Costume Contest: Stick around for a Halloween costume contest with Scheels and Festival Foods gift card prizes.
- Museum Tours: Enjoy free museum tours for all event participants.
- Train Rides: Free train rides for kids in costume (all other riders just $3).
- Post-Race Treats: Includes one free beer (must be 21 or older) or soda to all finishers.
Prizes
- Kid’s Run Medals: Medals to all kid’s run finishers.
- Age-Group Medals: Medals to top three 5K and 10-mile age-group finishers.
- Overall Finisher Prizes: Scheels gift card prizes to top overall finishers.
- Best Costume Prizes: Scheels and Festival Foods gift card prizes to the best kids' and adult costumes.
Carson Challenge
Run your first or fastest 5K or within 2 minutes of your predicted 10-mile time (faster or slower) and receive your choice of a Carson ball cap, neck gaiter, or a pair of ITC socks.
Event Schedule
- 8:30 a.m: 5K & 10-mile run/walk.
- 9 a.m.-Noon: Free tours of the Chippewa Valley Museum for all event participants.
- 10:30 a.m: Awards, Halloween Costume Contest.
- 11 a.m: Kid's 1/4 mile & 1-mile BOO-GIE Run.
- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m: Train rides—kids in costume one FREE ride: all other riders $3.
Race Packet Pickup
Friday & Saturday Race shirt and # pickup will be available at the Wisconsin Logging Museum (Paul Bunyan Logging Camp) 4 to 7 pm Friday, Oct. 30th and 6:30 to 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31st.
Beneficiary Information
Event proceeds benefit the Chippewa Valley Museum and the ITC Running/Walking Club, two non-profit organizations with a long history of promoting community education, fitness, and service.
