Run for the Hungry

Race Overview

Join us at beautiful Mahr Park, Madisonville, for a 5k run/walk and kids 1/4 mile fun run on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 26th, 2026, and raise much needed funds for the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County. Register here.

Event Schedule

• Kids Run Start Time: 8:00 AM
• 5K Run/Walk Start Time: 8:15 AM
• Award Ceremony: 9:15 AM
• Course Dismantling: Begins at 9:30 AM

Participants’ Information

• Pets: Strollers and well-behaved LEASHED dogs are welcome. Please clean up after your dog!
• Cut-off Time: No official cut-off time, but please complete your run or walk at your own pace.
• Prizes: Awarded to various categories, including overall winners and age group distinctions.
• Fee Structure: Processing fees will be passed on to participants ($2.20 per 5k runner).

Awards and Prizes

• Overall Winners: First Male/Female Overall 5K
• Age Categories: First Male/Female Over-40 and Under-18 5K
• Special Awards: First Stroller and First Dog in the 5K
• Kids Run: First Male/Female - Kids Run (U-12)

Participation and Sponsorship

• Team Discount: Middle and High School XC and Track teams can receive a 10% discount. Coaches should email irunforthehungry@gmail.com.
• Business Sponsorship: Businesses interested in sponsoring the event can email irunforthehungry@gmail.com for details.
• Volunteer Opportunities: Groups of 5 or more will receive sponsor benefits, including their name on race t-shirts.
• Volunteer Roles Needed: Packet pick-up, setup, tear down, and road crossing support on race day.
