Run for the Hungry

🏃‍♀️ About the Event

Join us at beautiful Mahr Park, Madisonville, for a 5k run/walk and kids 1/4 mile fun run on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 27th, 2025 and raise much needed funds for the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County.

🕗 Race Schedule

• Kids run start time: 8am
• 5k run/walk start time: 8:15am
• Award ceremony: 9:15am
• Course dismantling: Starts at 9:45 AM

🐶 Participation Guidelines

• Strollers and dogs: Welcomed, must be leashed and well-behaved.
• Dog etiquette: Please clean up after your dog!
• No cut-off time: Finish at your own pace.
• Age group prize policy: Only the next runner in a category receives the prize if the overall winner also wins their age group.

🏆 Awards and Prizes

• Overall winners: First Male/Female Overall 5k
• Age group winners: First Male/Female Over-40 5k, First Male/Female Under-18 5k, First Dog 5k
• Kids run winners: First Male/Female 6 and under, 7-9yrs, 10-12yrs

💵 Registration Details

In order to give as much money as possible to the food bank, we are choosing to pass the processing fees on to our participants. ($2.20 per 5k runner.) The more people you sign up at one time, the lower the overall processing fees, so get the whole family out and start a new Thanksgiving tradition!

🏫 Discounts for Teams

Middle and High School XC and Track teams: Can receive a 10% discount - Coaches please email irunforthehungry@gmail.com

🤝 Sponsorship and Volunteering

• Sponsorship: Would your business like to sponsor the Run for the Hungry? Please email irunforthehungry@gmail.com for sponsorship details.
• Volunteering: Help us make this a fun and well organized event.
• Volunteer roles: Packet pick-up on November 26th, set-up on race day, and road crossing duties.
• Group benefits: Groups of 5 or more will receive sponsor benefits.
