Run for the Hungry

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Join us at beautiful Mahr Park, Madisonville, for a 5k run/walk and kids 1/4 mile fun run on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 27th, 2025 and raise much needed funds for the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County. More details can be found at Run for the Hungry.

⏰ Race Schedule

• Kids run: Starts at 8am
• 5k run/walk: Starts at 8:15am
• Course dismantling: Will begin at 9:45 AM
• Award ceremony: Held at 9:15 am

🐾 Participant Guidelines

• Strollers: Welcome
• Dogs: Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome (Please clean up after your dog!)
• Timeliness: You may finish at your own pace even if the course is being dismantled.
• Prize eligibility: Winners of overall awards will not receive age group prizes.

Awards and Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to:

• Overall 5k: First Male/Female
• Over-40 5k: First Male/Female
• Under-18 5k: First Male/Female
• Dog 5k: First Dog
• Kids Run: 6 and under - First Male/Female
• Kids Run: 7-9yrs - First Male/Female
• Kids Run: 10-12yrs - First Male/Female

💰 Registration and Fees

In order to give as much money as possible to the food bank, we are choosing to pass the processing fees on to our participants. ($2.20 per 5k runner.)

Discount: Middle and High School XC and Track teams can receive a 10% discount - Coaches please email irunforthehungry@gmail.com.

🤝 Sponsorship and Volunteering

• Sponsorship: If your business would like to sponsor the Run for the Hungry, please email irunforthehungry@gmail.com for details.
• Volunteering: We need volunteers for packet pick-up on Wednesday, November 26th from 11:30am - 3:30pm and on race day for various activities from 6:30am-10:30am.
• Group Benefits: Groups of 5 or more will be entitled to some sponsor benefits, such as their group or business name on race t-shirts.
• Age Requirement: Volunteers must be over 18 unless accompanied by an adult at all times.
