📚 Supporting Youth Education

• Beneficiary: The Running Scared 5k benefits Youth Education.
• Funds Raised: Approximately $350,000 has been raised to help children in the Cincinnati Valley area.
• Established: The race was first started in 2008.
• Course: A flat 3.1 mile course through a “spooky” cemetery, ending at a fabulous Halloween Fest.

👟 Event Participation

• Live Event: We are back "LIVE" this year for our traditional 5K Run Walk.
• Virtual Event: Can't make it to the "Live" event? Support the event with our Virtual event.
• Flexibility: You can run or walk your own 5K (if you want to) and post your time on our Virtual Results Page.
• Timing: You can run or walk your 5K anytime or anywhere between 10/1/2024 and 10/19/2024.

🕒 Schedule of Events

• Race Start: The 17th Annual Running Scared 5k is at 6 pm.
• Post Race Party: 6:30 pm - 10 pm inside and outside of Haffey Fieldhouse.

🏁 Course Details

• Starting Point: The race will start on West Street near the Stadium.
• Course Route: Wind through the “spooky” Reading Cemetery and back for a flat, fast course ending on the track in the Stadium.
• Water Stations: There will be water at the start, middle, and end of the route.
• Participation: Runners and walkers are welcomed.

🏆 Awards

• Famous Mugs: Awarded to the first 50 men and the first 50 women as they cross the finish line.
• Overall Results: Will be posted at the post-race party and online.

🎉 After the Race

• Post-Race Party: Fantastic party inside and outside of Haffey Fieldhouse.
• Activities: Costume contest with prizes, door prizes, music by "BAM Entertainment", and a beer garden.
• Food: Lots of food from our wonderful sponsors.
• Split-the-Pot: Raffle baskets to help us raise money.

🎟️ Registration Information

• Costs: 5K Registration - $30 until October 17, $35 on October 18, $40 Race Day.
• Party Only: $20 for non-participants—friends are encouraged to join the celebration!
• Kids Registration: All kids 13 and under can participate for only $20.

👕 T-Shirts

• Availability: Optional shirts for $17 short-sleeved, $20 long-sleeved (larger sizes are $3 additional).
• Order Deadline: Please order by 10/3/2024 for guaranteed size.

📨 Registration Methods

• Online Registration: Available through race day.
• Mail Registration: Postmark by Monday, October 16, 2024.
• Packet Pick Up: Early packet pick up on October 18, 2024, from Noon - 6 pm.
• Race Day Packet Pick Up: Available October 19, 2024, from 4 pm - 5:45 pm.

• Free Parking: Available near Haffey Fieldhouse and Reading Veteran’s Memorial Stadium.
• Parking Note: If you park in the lot, you will not be able to leave until the last person finishes the race.
