About this race
19th Annual Amazing Grace Running Scared 5K Run and Walk

Supporting Youth Education!
- Beneficiary: The Running Scared 5k benefits Youth Education.
- Funds Raised: Approximately $350,000 has been raised to help children in the Cincinnati Valley area.
- Inception: The Running Scared 5k was first started in 2008.
- Course: It is a flat 3.1 mile course through a “spooky” cemetery, ending at a fabulous Halloween Fest!
Event Details
- Live Event: We are back "LIVE" this year for our traditional 5K Run Walk.
- Virtual Option: Can't make it to the "Live" event? You can run or walk your own 5K and post your time on our Virtual Results Page.
- Post Race Party: 6:30 pm - 10 pm inside and outside of Haffey Fieldhouse.
- Location: Reading Veterans Memorial Stadium, 1600 West St, Cincinnati, OH 45215.
Course Information
- Start Point: The race will start on West Street near the Stadium.
- Route: Winds through the “spooky” Reading Cemetery, finishing on the track in the Stadium.
- Water Stations: There will be water at the start, middle, and end of the route.
- Eligibility: Runners and walkers are welcomed.
Awards
- Famous Mugs: Awarded to the first 50 men and first 50 women as they cross the finish line.
- Overall Results: Posted at the post-race party and online.
- No Age Categories: There are no age category awards for this event.
After the Race
- Party Features: Food from sponsors, costume contest, door prizes, and music by "BAM Entertainment."
- Beer Garden: Available for participants 21 and over with proper ID.
- Door Prizes: Register in advance to be eligible for fabulous door prizes.
Registration Information
- Cost: 5K Registration - $30 until October 15, $35 on October 16, and $40 on Race Day.
- Party Only: $20 for party attendance, includes food, drinks, and live music.
- Kids Registration: Kids 13 and under can participate for only $20.
T-Shirts
- Availability: Optional short-sleeve for $17, long-sleeve for $20, larger sizes for an additional $3.
- Order Deadline: Please order by 10/1/2026 to receive your desired size.
Packet Pick Up
- Early Pick Up: October 16, 2026, from Noon - 6 pm at Haffey Fieldhouse.
- Race Day Pick Up: October 17, 2026, from 4 pm - 5:45 pm at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium.
Parking
- Free Parking: Available near Haffey Fieldhouse and Reading Veteran’s Memorial Stadium.
- Parking Note: Lot parking will restrict exit until the last runner finishes. Nearby street parking available for early departures.
