Supporting Youth Education!

• Beneficiary: The Running Scared 5K benefits Youth Education.
• Funds Raised: Approximately $350,000 raised to help children in the Cincinnati Valley area.
• Inauguration: The event was first started in 2008.
• Event Atmosphere: Participants are encouraged to run/walk in costumes.

Event Details

• Course: A flat 3.1 mile course through a “spooky” cemetery, ending at a fabulous Halloween Fest.
• Post Race Party: Admission includes music, food and drinks from sponsors, a roaring fire, and more.
• Choose your event: Participants can join the traditional event or support virtually.
• Virtual Participation: You can run or walk your own 5K anytime and post results online.

Schedule of Events

• Race Start: 6:00 pm
• Post Race Party: 6:30 pm - 10 pm at Haffey Fieldhouse.

Awards and Results

• Awards: First 50 men and first 50 women will receive our traditional Famous Mugs.
• Results: Posted at the post-race party and online.
• No Age Category Awards: There are no age category awards for this event.

After the Race

• Party Festivities: Lots of food, costume contests, door prizes, and music provided by BAM Entertainment.
• Beer Garden: Available for those 21 and over with proper ID.
• Door Prizes: Register in advance to be eligible for fabulous door prizes.

Registration Costs

• 5K Registration: $30 through October 15, $35 on October 16, and $40 on Race Day.
• Party Only: $20 includes food, drinks, and access to the festivities.
• Kids Registration: Children 13 and under can participate for only $20.

T-Shirts

• Shirt Pricing: $17 for short-sleeved, $20 for long-sleeved, with larger sizes at an additional cost.
• Order Deadline: To guarantee your desired size, order by 10/1/2026.

Registration Information

• Online Registration: Available through race day.
• Mail Registration: Postmark by Monday, October 12, 2026.
• Early Packet Pick-Up: October 16, 2026, from noon - 6 pm at Haffey Fieldhouse.
• Race Day Packet Pick-Up: October 17, 2026, from 4 pm - 5:45 pm at the stadium.

Parking and Refund Policy

• Free Parking: Available near Haffey Fieldhouse and the stadium.
• Parking Note: You cannot leave during the race unless parked on nearby streets.
• No Refunds: Please note that there are no refunds for registration.
