• Benefit: The Running Scared 5k benefits Youth Education.
• Total Raised: To date approximately $350,000 has been raised to help children in the Cincinnati Valley area.
• Established: The Running Scared 5k was first started in 2008.
• Event Atmosphere: Participants are encouraged to run/walk in costumes.

• Live Event: We are back "LIVE" this year for our traditional 5K Run Walk.
• Virtual Event: Can't make it to the "Live" event? You can still support the event with our Virtual event.
• Post Your Time: Post your time on our Virtual Results Page.
• Flexibility: Run or walk your 5K anytime or anywhere you like.

🗓️ Schedule of Events:

• Race Start: The 18th Annual Running Scared 5k is at 6 pm.
• Post Race Party: 6:30 pm - 10 pm inside and outside of Haffey Fieldhouse.

• Stadium: Reading Veterans Memorial Stadium, 1600 West St Cincinnati, OH 45215

🏁 Course:

• Route: The race will start on West Street near the Stadium.
• Terrain: Wind through the “spooky” Reading Cemetery.
• Water Stations: Water will be provided at the start, middle and end of the route.
• Participation: Runners and Walkers are welcomed.

🏆 Awards:

• First 100: Famous Mugs will be given to the first 50 men and the first 50 women as they cross the finish line.
• No Age Awards: There are no age category awards for this event.

🎉 After the Race:

• Party Atmosphere: Fantastic party inside and outside of Haffey Fieldhouse.
• Food & Prizes: Lots of food from our wonderful sponsors, Costume contest with prizes, and Door Prizes.
• Music: Music by "BAM Entertainment" and our beer garden outside.

🎟️ Door Prizes:

• Eligibility: To be eligible for our many fabulous door prizes, all you have to do is register in advance of race day.

🎫 Raffle:

• Tickets: Raffle tickets will be sold at the after party.
• Cash: Bring some $ to buy tickets.

🖥️ Virtual 5K:

• Alternative Participation: Run or walk your own 5K and post your time on our Virtual Results Page.
• Timing Frame: Post results anytime between 10/1/2024 and 10/19/2024.

💵 Registration Cost:

• 5K Registration: $30 through Thursday, October 16, 2025: $35 on Friday, October 17, 2025: $40 Race Day.
• Includes: Fee covers Professional Chip-timing, Race Medal, Awards, Food and refreshments, and entrance to the Post-race Party.
• Party Only: $20 includes FUN, food, a ticket for drinks (ID required), and a costume contest.
• Kids Price: All Kids 13 and under can participate for only $20.

👕 T-Shirts:

• Prices: $17 for short-sleeved and $20 for long-sleeved, larger sizes are $3 additional.
• Order Deadline: To be guaranteed your desired size, please order by 10/2/2025.

📄 Registration Information:

• Online Registration: Available through race day.
• Mail Registration: Postmark your registration by Monday, October 13, 2025.

📦 Early Packet Pick-up:

• Date & Time: Friday, Oct. 17, 2025 from Noon - 6 pm at Haffey Fieldhouse, 1599 West Street, Reading, Ohio 45215.

📍 Race Day Packet Pick-up:

• Date & Time: Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 from 4 pm - 5:45 pm at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium, 1600 West Street, Reading, Ohio 45215.

🚗 Free Parking:

• Parking Areas: You may park your vehicle near Haffey Fieldhouse and Reading Veteran’s Memorial Stadium.
• Note: Parking in the lot will restrict exiting until the last person finishes the race. Street parking is available for early leavers.
