• Beneficiary: The Running Scared 5K benefits Youth Education.
• Funds Raised: To date approximately $350,000 has been raised to help children in the Cincinnati Valley area.

🏃‍♀️ About the Race

• Inception: The Running Scared 5K was first started in 2008.
• Course: A flat 3.1-mile course through a “spooky” cemetery ending at a fabulous Halloween Fest!
• Costumes: Participants are encouraged to run/walk in costumes.
• Post-Race Party: Enjoy music, food, drinks, and a cozy fire post-race.

• Live Event: We are back "LIVE" this year for our traditional 5K Run Walk.
• Virtual Event: Support the event with our Virtual event anytime or anywhere.

⏰ Schedule of Events

• Race Start: The 18th Annual Running Scared 5K is at 6 pm.
• Post-Race Party: 6:30 pm - 10 pm inside and outside of Haffey Fieldhouse.

🏁 Course Information

• Start Location: The race will start on West Street near the Stadium.
• Water Stations: Water will be available at the start, middle, and end of the route.
• Welcoming: Runners and Walkers are welcomed.

• Famous Mugs: Awarded to the first 50 men and women crossing the finish line.

📋 Results

• Overall Results: Will be posted at the post-race party and online.
• Categories: There are no age category awards for this event.

🥳 After the Race

• Post-Race Celebrations: Enjoy a fantastic party with food from our sponsors.
• Activities: Costume contest, door prizes, music, and beer garden.
• Eligibility: Beer available for those 21 and over with proper ID.

• Registration: Register in advance of race day to be eligible for fabulous door prizes.

💻 Virtual 5K

• Support Options: Participate from anywhere by posting your results online.
• Timing: Post results on our Virtual Results page anytime between 10/1/2024 and 10/19/2024.

💵 Registration Cost

• 5K Registration: $30 through October 16, $35 on October 17, $40 Race Day.
• Party Only: $20 for friends and family festivities, including food and live band.
• Kids Registration: All kids 13 and under can participate for only $20.

👕 T-Shirts

• Availability: Short-sleeved shirts for $17, long-sleeved for $20.
• Order Deadline: To be guaranteed your size, please order by 10/2/2025.

📝 Registration Information

• Online Registration: Available through race day.
• Mail Registration: Postmark your registration by Monday, October 13, 2025.

📦 Packet Pick up

• Early Packet Pick up: Friday, Oct. 17, 2025 from Noon - 6 pm at Haffey Fieldhouse.
• Race Day Packet Pick up: Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 from 4 pm - 5:45 pm at the stadium.

🚗 Free Parking

• Parking Locations: Near Haffey Fieldhouse and Reading Veterans Memorial Stadium.
• Exit Note: If parked in the lot, you cannot leave until the last person finishes the race.
