The Missing Slice - Love, Hope & Pizza 5K

Event Overview
- Purpose: This annual event raises funds and awareness for breast cancer research, support, and early detection through the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
- Mission: The name "The Missing Slice" aims to help close the gap in resources needed to end breast cancer.
- Post-Race Pizza: Free pizza provided by Hungry Howie’s for all participants!
- Community Goal: The community fundraising goal is $2,500, with 100% of donations going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Race Details
- 5K Run/Walk: Timed race with overall awards presented post-race.
- Route Guidance: Open roads with volunteers and signage to guide the route.
- Accessibility: Strollers and walkers are welcome.
Fun Run (Ages 10 & Under)
- Start Time: Starts at 8:15 AM (15 minutes before the 5K).
- Course: A half-mile loop starting and finishing at the official start line.
- Finisher Medals: Participants receive a finisher medal and T-shirt (register by October 12 to guarantee a shirt).
- Parental Participation: Parents may run alongside younger kids.
Post-Race Celebration
- Complimentary Pizza: Enjoy pizza provided by Hungry Howie’s.
- Community Feel: Join in for community vibes and high-fives.

- Green Lot: Reserved for volunteers.
- Blue Lot: For race participants.
- Updates: Any changes will be communicated prior to the event.

Race Course Map
The only change this year to the course is we are officially removing the bus loop at the finish. Runners will head north on McKenzie St., making two left turns down Budlong St. all the way to Maumee, making another double left-hand turn onto McKenzie St. Passing Hungry Howie’s right there and up to Maple where participants will head east on Maple to Springbrook, North to Riverside and heading west to finish back at the bus loop for Adrian High School.
