• Race: Sixth Annual Wenzel Memorial 5K

About the Race

• Memory: This event honors Gregg Wenzel ’91, a triathlete and former student-athlete at Binghamton.
• Background: Wenzel competed on the men’s varsity swimming and diving team and was tragically killed in a car accident in July 2003 in Ethiopia.
• Course: The 5K run/walk will take place around campus, starting and ending at the East Gym on Recreation Drive.
• Check-in: Race check-in and on-site registration will occur at the East Gym.

Registration Information

• T-shirts: Available for participants who register online by September 14, 2026, 12:00 PM.
• Availability: T-shirts will be available on race day on a first-come, first-served basis, with no guarantee.
• Medals: The first 50 finishers will receive a participation medal.
• Timing: Race timing will be kept and results available online post-race.

Entry Fees

• Registration: Race-day registration starts at 7:45 AM and ends at 8:45 AM.
• Fees: $10 for students and $20 for all others (exact change only).
• Age: Participants must be 13 years or older to enter.
• Student Discount: Students can enter coupon code STUDENTWENZEL26 on the payment screen. SOM students should contact SOM directly for a discount code.
