🌄 Race Experience

• Scenic Views: Runners and walkers will be treated to views of the Blue Mountains with rolling fields of wheat and grapevines and fall foliage.
• Trail Surfaces: The trail surfaces start with asphalt nature paths, transitioning to gravel service roads at Bennington Lake.
• Course Description: This is NOT a fast and flat course! It includes rolling hills with elevation gain on the way out and high-speed returns on mile 6-8 of the half and the last two miles of both the 10K and half marathon.
• Surrounding Landscape: The race meanders through open grasslands and wooded areas with stunning views of the surrounding valley.

🎉 What to Expect

• Finisher Medal: Every finisher receives a finisher medal.
• Food Options: Enjoy food trucks, local craft beers (one free beer per runner for those 21 years of age or older or root beer), music, and a food tent for runners.
• Registration Reminder: You will need to register before September 15 to receive the free shirt. T-shirt availability and size not guaranteed after September 19 registration.
• Celebration: Results ceremonies and lots of cheering!

🏅 5K Heroes Run

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Heroes Run. This run is a memorial for three Walla Walla health care professionals who have passed away. This 5K run is to honor these three remarkable people.

• Route: Runners and walkers will enjoy the beautiful Millcreek nature pathway with a combination of asphalt and gravel road surfaces.
• Awards: There will be awards for the top 3 female and top 3 male finishers.
• Commemorative Items: All participants who register before September 12 will receive a free t-shirt: the first 140 participants 13 and up will also receive a commemorative glass.
• Finish Line Festivities: A beer garden for those 21 and older and a strawberry shortcake social provided by EastgateSDA.

❤️ Honoring Our Heroes

The proceeds from this 2nd annual Heroes run will benefit those in our community in bettering their lives. Here’s more about the heroes we are honoring:

• Melissa Harting: A dedicated nurse who passed away at the age of 44, remembered for her dedication as a mother, friend, and healthcare provider.
• Robert Becker: A beloved nursing instructor who inspired many, he passed away at the age of 68, leaving a legacy in nursing education.
• Ryan Pleasants: A firefighter/paramedic who dedicated his life to serving the community and passed away at the age of 41.
• Scholarship Fund: Funds raised will support nursing students' financial needs and advanced EMS providers’ education through local United Way of the Blue Mountains.
