About this race
Race Overview
Now in its 18th year, the YMCA of Lincoln Turkey Trot presented by Union Bank & Trust returns as one of the area's highly favored family traditions on Thanksgiving morning. Choose from a Tot Trot (1 city block dash for youth up to 5 years old, parents welcome), 1-Mile Fun Run & Walk, or a 5K Race either in-person or virtually (Trot at Home). Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome! Race proceeds benefit the YMCA's Annual Fundraising Campaign so that more youth, families, and seniors can experience the Y.
Race Day Notes
- Strollers: Allowed in all of the events. Dogs are not allowed on the course during any of the races.
- Registration: Open to the public, online registration required.
- Weather: All races will run as scheduled...rain, snow, or extreme cold. Please dress appropriately.
- Refunds: No refunds on entry fees.
Race Times
- 7:45 am: Tot Trot (1 city block dash, parents are welcome to join)
- 8:00 am: 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 8:30 am: 5K Race
- 9:15 am: Awards Ceremony
Race Location
- The Tot Trot, 1-Mile, and 5K Race and post-race awards will be held in Downtown Lincoln at the Railyard, 350 Canopy St.
- Parking: Free parking is available at the Pinnacle Bank Arena Festival Lot, just north of Pinnacle Bank Arena, 901 V Street. After parking, walk across the West Haymarket Pedestrian Bridge to the Railyard. All vehicles must exit the lot by 3:00 pm the day of the event. Paid parking is also available in surrounding downtown parking garages.

Race Prizes
- Youth prizes: Small prizes will be provided to youth finishers of the Tot Trot and 1-Mile events.
- 5K medals: In the 5K Race, the top in-person male and female finishers in the following age divisions will each receive a medal: 12 & Under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
- Overall awards: The overall in-person male and female finishers of the 5K will receive a medal and additional prize.
Fees for In-Person and Trot at Home Option
- FREE Tot Trot: Registration is required (race t-shirt not provided).
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk: $22.
- 5K Entry: $37 for individual entry.
- Family Entry: $80 per family for the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk: family consists of 2 adults 22 years or older and children under 24 years living at the same address full-time, maximum of 5 family members. Additional family entries are $10 per child. Family pricing is not available for the 5K Race.
- Late registration fee: $10/person for entries received after November 22.
Race Apparel and Registration
- Early registration deadline: Sunday, November 22. Entries for the 1-Mile and 5K events on or before this date will receive a soft-cotton blend t-shirt.
- Long sleeve option: For an additional fee, you may upgrade to a long sleeve version of the 2026 Turkey Trot shirt.
- Merchandise: Signature Turkey Trot beanies and trucker hats will be available to purchase for an additional fee while supplies last.
- Late registration: Monday, November 23 - Thursday, November 26, 7:30 am. Online registration is available through 7:30 am on Thanksgiving morning. No on-site registration available.
- Post-deadline entries: Entries received after November 22 will receive a Turkey Trot hat, beanie, or past event shirt, while supplies last. No refunds on entry fees.
Packet Pickup
- Bring: Please bring a copy of your registration confirmation.
- Wednesday: November 25, 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm at Cooper YMCA, 6767 S 14th Street.
- Thursday: November 26, beginning at 6:30 am at Railyard, 350 Canopy St (Race site): Note that lines may be long, please plan accordingly.
- Virtual Packet: Trot at Home participants may request to have their packet mailed to them if the address is outside of Lincoln city limits for an additional fee. Deadline for request is November 13.
Food Bank of Lincoln
- We will again be hosting a drive for non-perishable food items and hygiene products during packet pickup and race day. Barrels will be available to drop off any items at the Cooper Y (packet pickup) and in the Railyard (race day). Thank you for joining us to help those in need this holiday season!
