About this race
Come Chill with the Chigger at the 30th Annual Chigger Chase!
Kick off the Christmas season with family and friends at Ardmore Regional Park’s most festive, unique running event! Race through the magical Festival of Lights at dusk and enjoy a fun evening filled with holiday spirit, community, and cheer.
Children’s Chigger Chase – ½ Mile Run
- Age Group: Kids 12 and under will start with Charlie the Chigger at the inflatable start line.
- Distance: Run ¼ mile out and return ¼ mile to the festive finish line.
- Costume: Dress up in holiday attire or a fun costume!
- Experience: A great way for young runners to feel like part of the big race!
5K Chigger Chase – Timed Race
- Course: Race under the sparkling Christmas lights on a paved out-and-back 5K course!
- Challenge: Are you fast enough to catch the Speedy Chigger?
- Eligibility: Open to all ages – festive attire encouraged!
- Atmosphere: Enjoy a vibrant running experience surrounded by holiday cheer!
1-Mile Fun Run/Walk – Untimed
- Option: Looking for something shorter?
- Scenic Route: Enjoy a jog or walk through the lights.
- Family-Friendly: Bring the whole family!
- Relaxed Pace: This event is untimed.
Girls on the Run Celebratory 5K – Untimed
- Welcome Back: Excited to have Girls on the Run for their Fall 2026 Celebratory 5K!
- Highlight: This special event celebrates the achievements of the GOTR participants and their Running Buddies.
- Open Event: Available to Girls on the Run families and supporters.
- Community Spirit: Celebrate together in a supportive environment!
Mascot Race

Proceeds from the Chigger Chase go directly to Ardmore Regional Park, funding projects like the refreshed main entrance, new pickleball courts and restrooms, and low-cost community programs. This year's funds will support programming, improvements, and splash pad planning – ensuring Ardmore Regional Park remains a vibrant space for everyone to enjoy!

Location: Regional Park Pavilion (near softball fields - short walk required)
Arrive early to park and enjoy pre-race fun!
- 4:15 PM – Race Day Registration Closes
- 4:45 PM – Children's Chigger Chase (1/2 Mile)
- 5:00 PM – Mascot Race
- 5:30 PM – Start of Chigger Chase 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run
- 5:31 PM – Start of the Girls on the Run Celebratory 5K

Packet Pickup – Friday, November 13th
Packets will be available on Friday, Nov. 13th from 3-6pm at The Clubhouse (2705 N Rockford Rd). Race Day Packet Pickup will also be available from 3pm until registration closes at 4:15pm.
