About this race
Race Overview
The New River Gorge Rim to Rim Race is a running road race from one rim of the New River Gorge, down to the bottom where you'll cross over the New River, then back to the rim of the other side with a short trail section to finish. This bucket list event will provide runners with breathtaking views throughout the course in the adventure sports capital of West Virginia - Fayetteville. This event is hosted by Active Southern West Virginia at Adventures on the Gorge, where racers will finish at the resort's rim side pool to enjoy a catered brunch overlooking the New River Gorge. The distance is 6 miles. Brunch is included in the registration.
Course Details
- Start Location: South side of Fayette Station Road
- Finish Location: Adventures on the Gorge
- Elevation Change: Descent of 800 ft and a climb of 800 ft
- Incline: Steepest point being a 20% incline
Registration Information
- Protection: Protect your registration with RegShield event insurance for peace of mind.
- Online Registration: Available until April 27th. Last minute registration on May 1st, if space allows.
- Pricing: Ranges from $50 to $80 based on registration date.
- Special Notes: April 11 is the last day for T-Shirt Guarantee.
Packet Pickup
Friday, April 30th - packet pick up will take place between 5-7 PM at Adventures on the Gorge. We highly encourage you to come to Friday packet pick-up! Packets can also be picked up the morning of the race between 6:30 am-7:15 am.
Race Day Itinerary
Racers need to be checking in at Adventures on the Gorge at 7 am. More detailed times will be established based on registration numbers.
Awards
Awards will be given to the top finishers in each age bracket in the running category ONLY.
Community Impact
Proceeds benefit Active Southern West Virginia which offers free physical activity programs within communities, elementary schools, local government, and workplaces in Nicholas, Fayette, Raleigh, and Summers counties.
