Road Race for Education

The Road Race for Education is an annual event located in the heart of Dekalb County. This event, now in its 46th year, brings together the East Lake Community and East Atlanta Neighbors to celebrate and advocate for quality education. The road race was previously named The Muhammad Ali Road Race in honor of the legendary athlete Muhammad Ali. This race symbolizes courage, determination, and community spirit.

Registration Information

In-person 5K registration Includes:

• Participant Shirt: Road Race for Education shirt (while supplies last)
• Participant Medal: All finishers receive a medal
• Chipped-Timed: 5K road race - USTAF Certified Course
• Recognition: RRCA recognized event

Virtual 5K registration Includes:

• Participant Shirt: Road Race for Education shirt
• Packet Shipping: Not included in registration
• Results Reporting: Access to virtual results reporting

Planning and Updates Timeline

• Registration Policy: All registrations are transferable: however, they are NON-REFUNDABLE.
• Packet Pickup: Must be picked up at the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam on: Friday, September 4, 2027 at 3 PM to 5 PM, or Saturday, September 5, 2027 from 9 AM to 1 PM, in the library.
• Transfer Deadline: The deadline to transfer your race to Virtual is midnight on August 22, 2027.
• In-Person Packs: Please note that In-Person participant packets will not be mailed out.

Registration & Pricing Schedule

• August 20, 2027: Race Shirt Deadline - 5k Run/Walk - $50: Senior Walk $45: Student Run $25: Kids Fun Run $20.
• August 23, 2027: Late Registration Pricing/ Virtual 5K Registration Closes - 5k Run/Walk - $55: Senior Walk $45: Student Run $45: Kids Fun Run $20.
• Virtual Pricing: $45 VIRTUAL 5K (does not include shipping).
• Conversion Info: How to convert your registration from In-Person to Virtual or from Virtual to In-Person (by 8/21/2027).

The Road Race for Education will positively impact the community in the following manner:

• Community Celebration: A lively festival promoting quality education.
• Inclusivity: Participants of all ages join in the festivities, highlighting the race's inclusive nature.
• Funding Support: Proceeds will support the mission of Mohammed Schools of Atlanta.
• Future Projects: The weekend will include a community-wide service project: check back for details closer to the race.
