We are excited to return to Catawba Meadows Greenway in Morganton, NC for the SMBC 5K, 10K, and Fun Run in 2026!

🌳 About South Mountain Baptist Camp

Since the inception of South Mountain Baptist Camp in 1957 in the South Mountains of North Carolina, the goal was to provide an environment that fosters spiritual growth through disconnecting from the world so as to connect with God.

• Nature Connection: Time in nature helps participants reflect and grow.
• Skill Development: Being exposed to new skills enhances personal growth.
• Friendship: Making friends enriches the camp experience.
• Faith Learning: Participants learn about Jesus Christ and the message of salvation.

💰 Affordability and Support

South Mountain seeks to keep camp affordable for everyone and offsets the cost of camp by around $100 per camper since it's estimated that the cost of South Mountain’s summer camp is $205 per week and the true cost of camp is over $300 per week.

• Financial Assistance: The camp aims to make participation accessible for all.
• Cost Support: Proceeds from each race go directly to the camp’s operating budget.
• Celebration: This race celebrates God’s work through South Mountain.
• Participation: Join us by running, walking, volunteering, or cheering the participants on!
