🌅 Day of Event

Our 13th Annual 5K & 13K are held on a fully paved course next to the sand in Playa Del Rey on August 24th, 2025

• 6:00am: Parking Lots Open (LA County charges $13, bring cash). The line backs up so arrive early. Let the attendant know you're with the event.
• 7:00am: Registration and Vendor Booths Open
• 7:05am: Warm up for Bike Tour
• 7:10am: Bike Tour Starts

• 7:30am: Warm Up for 5/13k
• 7:40am: Costume Contests
• 7:56am: National Anthem 🇺🇸
• 8:10am: 13K start (2 hour time limit, 15 min per mile pace or faster)

• 8:30am: 5K start
• 10:00am: Kids Run starts (time is approximate and depends on when the last 13K walkers are off so kids can run clear)
• 10:10am: Awards Ceremony

🎗️ Charity

In its 13th year, The BRA Run supports Evelyn’s BFF, a charity that helps breast cancer survivors get back to their new normal while supporting counseling, reconstruction, and other items that people are often not able to get covered by their insurance. Most of our grant recipients have bills going into 6 figures! This event is the biggest fundraiser for this all volunteer organization and determines how many people they can help this year.

Evelyn, the founder of the Evelyn's Breast Friends Forever (BFF), a 501(c)3 non-profit public benefit charity foundation, started this event in 2013 and in her honor we have a 5K and a 13K at the BRA Run.

Join us for Evelyn's party so we all can help other breast cancer survivors and their families. Our event spreads awareness of breast cancer reconstruction to the community by encouraging men and women to run and walk in their BRA (Breast Reconstruction Awareness) in honor and in memory of those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

🎭 Costume Contest

Dress up in celebration of the BRA Run! Our participants get creative with their attire and we have awards to celebrate. Wear a decorated bra (sports bra, lacy bra, nursing bra, any type of bra) or dress up your shirt! You can wear the bra on its own or over a shirt. Looking for ideas? Here are some of last year's costumes.

Winners will be announced in the following categories:

• Female Individual: Best Decorated Bra
• Male Individual: Best Decorated Bra
• Team: Best Dressed

*Teams must have 5 or more people to enter the team competitions.

🏃 Make it a Virtual Run/Walk

Can't make it in person but want to be a part of the event and support breast cancer survivors? Sign up for the virtual run and we will mail you a bib, shirt and medal.

🏅 Beach to City Challenge

Want to nab an additional medal? Take part in the Beach to City Challenge with the Greta Garbo medal!

Greta Garbo, the cinematic legend and breast cancer survivor, called Culver City home, so we celebrate her with a special medal. If you run both the BRA Run and Screenland 5k (in Culver City) back-to-back, you can claim this bonus bling!

If you ran Screenland 5k 2025 and BRA Run 2025, you can claim your medal at BRA Run 2025. If you run BRA Run 2025 and Screenland 5k 2026, you can claim your medal at Screenland 5k 2026. You can only claim the bonus medal once a year.

Sign up for Screenland 5k 2025 to ensure your Greta Garbo medal. If you register for Screenland 5k at the BRA Run finish line, you'll get a discount on registration.

A list of those who qualify for the medal will be published on the BRA Run website in August before the event. Check to make sure your name is on it!
