Unique Experience: The Great Ferry Race is unlike any other race you’ve ever done.
Scenic Crossing: Participants will board the ferry in downtown Seattle, enjoying a 35-minute scenic crossing to Bainbridge Island.
Course Layout: The half marathon starts on the ferry dock and takes runners around scenic Bainbridge Island, approximately 2/3rds road and 1/3rd groomed trail.
Post-Race Festival: After the run, enjoy the post-race festival before choosing a return ferry back to Seattle.
Course Information
Hilly Terrain: Please note that this is a hilly course compared to most Orca Running events.
Trail Details: Approximately 1/3 of the course is on Bainbridge Island trails which are not technical and do not require trail running experience.
Runner Caution: Runners who experience difficulty on trails should probably not run this race.
Resident Participation: Bainbridge Island and Kitsap County residents who don’t need to take the ferry are welcome to attend.

Registration Savings: Bainbridge Island residents can save $8 on race registration.
Self-Declaration: By choosing this option at checkout, you agree that you live on Bainbridge Island and will not require the ferry.
Eligibility: Please select the Bainbridge resident option when registering.
Participation Option: This applies to residents who will not use the ferry to the start line.
