Race Overview
- Unique Experience: The Great Ferry Race is unlike any other race you’ve ever done.
- Ferry Journey: Participants will board the ferry in downtown Seattle, enjoying a scenic 35-minute crossing to Bainbridge Island.
- Scenic Course: The half marathon starts on the ferry dock and takes runners around scenic Bainbridge Island.
- Course Composition: The course is approximately 2/3rds road and 1/3rd groomed trail.
Post-Race Celebration
- Festival: After the run, enjoy the post-race festival.
- Return Ferries: You may pick a return ferry of your choosing back to Seattle.
Course Details
- Hilly Terrain: Please note that this is a hilly course, compared to most Orca Running events.
- Trail Conditions: Approximately 1/3 of the course is on Bainbridge Island trails, which are not technical.
- Experience Consideration: Runners who experience difficulty while running on trails should probably not run this race.
Local Participation
- Bainbridge Residents: Residents who don’t need to take the ferry are welcome to attend.
- Registration Option: Please select the Bainbridge resident option when registering.
