Rhinebeck Ferncliff Forest 5k Turkey Trot

This event keeps Ferncliff Forest free for all to use year round. We are a private preserve and get no government money. Your generous support has allowed us to maintain the forest since 1964. We have NO paid directors, board members or executives.

Shirt Reservation

• First 750 Entries: The first 750 entries will get a soft cotton T shirt. You can reserve your shirt when signing up.
• Sell Out Warning: Enter now: the shirts do sell out.
• Last Year: Last year we had almost 1000 runners!

Race Details

• Race Time: Race time is 8am. We will do a gun start with chip timing, so if you are back in the pack your time will start when you cross the start line.
• Starting Requirement: All runners and walkers must start by 8:10!
• Kids Participation: Kids under 5 are free: kids in strollers are ok.
• Dog Policy: Well behaved dogs on a leash are permitted.

Raffle Information

• Raffle Entry: For every $5 donated (separate from entry), you will get 1 raffle chance!
• Raffle Items: We will have a raffle of goods and services from local merchants, Gift Certificates, gas cards, frozen turkeys, etc.
• Donation: Please use the Donation button to be entered in the raffle.
• Chance: $5 for each chance at winning a prize!

Race Date

Thursday Nov 27, 2025 - Thanksgiving Morning Race Start 8:00am

Church hall will open at 6:45 for all runners. Thursday morning entry available till 7:45.

Location

The First Baptist Church, 9 Astor Dr, (Corner of Astor and Montgomery) Rhinebeck NY.

The Course

All on paved road - Montgomery St / Mt Rutsen Road from Astor Dr. to Ferncliff Forest and back. Paved road course out and back. Gentle rolling hills.

Classes

• Male and Female: Ages under 10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Awards

Awards to top 3 overall male and female finishers, top 3 male and female age group finishers. All kids under 10 will receive an award.

Awards ceremony at 9am sharp.

Before the Event

• Health Warning: If you have cold or flu symptoms please stay home. Symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.

Packet Pick-Up

We will be using the hall at the Baptist Church the morning of the event.

Pick-Up Options

• Option #1: Pick up your bib and shirt at Rhinebeck Bagels, 31 W Market St, Rhinebeck. Wed Nov 26th between 5:00pm till 6:30pm. Please try to attend the Wednesday night pick-up option if possible.
• Option #2: Race Day bib pick-up starting 7:00am in the Baptist church Hall.

Start Line

Located just to your left as you leave the church parking lot.

On Course Etiquette

When passing another racer, please announce your presence and intent to pass.

Finish Line

Results will be posted online at PRTiming.com as the runners come in.
