Rhinebeck Ferncliff Forest 5k Turkey Trot

🦃 Welcome to the Ferncliff Forest Turkey Trot

• Thanks: for your interest in the 2025 Ferncliff Forest Turkey Trot !! This event keeps Ferncliff Forest free for all to use year round.
• Support: We are a private preserve and get no government money. Your generous support has allowed us to maintain the forest since 1964.
• Volunteers: We have NO paid directors, board members or executives.

👕 T-Shirt for Early Registrants

• Free T-shirt: The first 750 entries will get a soft cotton T-shirt. You can reserve your shirt when signing up.
• Sign Up: Enter now: the shirts do sell out!
• Participation: Last year we had almost 1000 runners!

⏰ Race Time

• Start Time: Race time is 8am.
• Timing: We will do a gun start with chip timing: your time starts when you cross the start line.
• Deadline: All runners and walkers must start by 8:10!

👶 Family-Friendly

• Free for Kids: Kids under 5 are free.
• Strollers: Kids in strollers are OK.
• Pets: Well-behaved dogs on a leash are permitted.
• Encouragement: Walkers are welcome! Bring the whole family.

🎟️ Raffle Details

• Donation: For every $5 donated (separate from entry), you will get 1 raffle chance!
• Prizes: Raffle items include goods and services from local merchants, gift certificates, gas cards, and frozen turkeys.
• Participation: Please use the Donation button to be entered in the raffle.

📅 Race Date

• Date: Thursday, Nov 27, 2025 - Thanksgiving Morning.
• Start Time: Race starts at 8:00am.
• Opening: The church hall will open at 6:45 for all runners.
• Entry: Thursday morning entry available till 7:45.

📍 Location

• Venue: The First Baptist Church, 9 Astor Dr, (Corner of Astor and Montgomery) Rhinebeck NY.

🏃‍♂️ The Course

• Route: All on paved road - Montgomery St/Mt Rutsen Road from Astor Dr. to Ferncliff Forest and back.
• Terrain: Paved road course out and back with gentle rolling hills.
• Classes: Male and Female: Ages under 10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• Awards: Awards for top 3 overall male and female finishers, top 3 male and female age group finishers, and all kids under 10 receive an award.

🏆 Awards Ceremony

• Time: Awards ceremony at 9am sharp.

🚨 Before the Event

• Health Precautions: If you have cold or flu symptoms please stay home. Symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headaches, the new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

🎫 Packet Pick-Up

• Location: We will be using the hall at the Baptist Church the morning of the event.
• Suggestion: Please try to pick up your bib and shirt the night before.
• Option #1: Pick up at Rhinebeck Bagels, 31 W Market St, Rhinebeck. Wed Nov 26th between 5:00pm and 6:30pm.
• Option #2: Race Day bib pick-up starting 7:00am in the Baptist Church Hall.

🚦 Start Line

• Location: Located just to your left as you leave the church parking lot.
• On Course Etiquette: When passing another racer, please announce your presence and intent to pass.

🏁 Finish Line

• Results: Results will be posted online at PRTiming.com as the runners come in.
