YMCA of Barry County’s 18th Annual Turkey Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

Come and participate in the beautiful run/walk near YMCA Camp Algonquin on Thanksgiving morning. Our 18th annual Turkey Trot includes a 5K run/walk and a 1 Mile Fun Run. As always, we will award the top male and female runners from Otto's Turkey Farm with their turkeys. Bring along your loved ones and enjoy a morning full of fun! WOBBLE BEFORE YOU GOBBLE!

  • Late Registration: November 19th-24th *NO SHIRT*

• 1 Mile Fun Run is FREE: you must register online or on race day – NO SHIRT
• 1 MILE FUN RUN: You don't need to check in. Meet at the start and have fun!

Packet Pickup

5K Race/BIB Packet Pickup: (1 Mile Fun Run: No need to check in: just show up at the start line on Thursday!)

Race Start Times

• 8:30 am Fun Run @ DeCamp Trailhead in parking lot at 2350 Iroquois Trail

• 8:45 am 5K @ corner of Buehler Rd & Iroquois Trail

Parking Information

ALCA Lodge, 2403 Iroquois Trail, & New Y Building, 2350 Iroquois Trail. Please follow instructions from the parking attendants. No public parking is available at YMCA Camp Algonquin. Parking is limited: please carpool or ride with a friend if you can.

Race Route

5K Race Route: Begins at Buehler Road, right on Woodruff Road, right on Hammond Road, right on Iroquois Trail, ends on the front lawn at YMCA Camp Algonquin.

1 Mile Fun Run Route, New Route!: Begins on DeCamp Trail at 2350 Iroquois Trail. The route will go down the trail until you reach Iroquois Trail, then turn left. Continue down the road past the camp to the turnaround sign, and it ends on the front lawn of YMCA Camp Algonquin.

Contests and Prizes

• 1st Place Male and Female 5K Adult 18+ winners: Win the race, and you will receive a turkey donated by Otto’s Turkey Farm!
• 1st Place Male and Female 5K Youth 17 & Under winners: Will receive a dozen donuts!
• Best Dressed: Wear your most festive fall gear. The best-dressed will win a prize and have their picture taken at the finish!

School Challenge

Gather all the members of your school district and invite them to join you in a 5K run/walk! The school with the highest percentage of students participating in relation to its enrollment within the school system will be presented with the prestigious Turkey Trophy, which can be displayed at the school for the following year. The trophy will be awarded and announced in the week following Thanksgiving.

Give Back

On race day, all racers are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items. The Y will donate all items to the Barry County United Way. Donation tables will be in both parking lots.

End of Event

Meet us on the front lawn of YMCA Camp Algonquin, 2055 Iroquois, after you finish for HOT COCOA, water, and giveaways!
