🤝 Event Purpose

Please make plans to join us for this very special event…the 2nd running of the “ML5K CommUnity Run”. The race--in honor of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.--is meant to bring our community together, not only in recognition of Dr. King, but also in an effort to promote health and wellness in our own little corner of the world on this very special day!

• Proceeds: Benefit individuals experiencing health challenges, providing support for medical bills.
• Scholarship Fund: Benefits the MLK Bartow County Scholarship Fund, furthering education.
• Community Focus: Aims to promote health and wellness.
• Event's Significance: Honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

🏞️ Race Route

This race route was well-received in its inaugural year and we think you will love utilizing a portion of the Sam Smith Park trail never before used for a 5K! This is a rolling and scenic route that incorporates much of the surrounding beauty of Cartersville. Please see the Race Route Map Below for a more detailed overview of the course.

📝 Registration Information

• Pre-Race Registration: $30 (through January 16th)
• Race Day Registration: $40

🏟️ 5K Start-Finish & Race Day Parking

• Location: The 5K Start & Finish Lines are on the track of Cartersville Middle School at 825 Douthit Ferry Rd., Cartersville, GA.
• Parking: Plenty of race parking available.
• Overflow Parking: Available at the Sam Smith Soccer Complex.
• Directions: Additional parking off of Milner Road just past the intersection of Milner Rd. and Walnut Grove Rd.

📅 Race Day Schedule of Events

• 8:45 AM: Race Day Registration / Packet Pick-up Opens
• 8:45-9:45 AM: Pre-Race Stretching Area OPEN!! Join trainer Travis Scott!
• 9:45 AM: Race Day Registration Closes
• 10:00 AM: 5K Start

📦 Packet Pick-up

Packet Pick-up will be held Saturday, January 18th, from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM at the Big Peach Running Company of Cartersville. Located at 402 E. Church St., Cartersville, GA 30121.

• Top Awards: Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female Winners
• Masters Awards: Top Master’s Male and Top Master’s Female Winners
• Age Categories: Awards for Top 3 Male & Female in various age categories.
• 1K Fun Run Awards: Awards for the top 3 runners in the 1K Fun Run.
