Race Overview

Join us for the 21st Annual Groom Creek Classic: 1/2 Marathon, 10k, and 5k Run on September 20th, 2025. The race will take place at 1110 E. Friendly Pines Road, Prescott, AZ. For more information, visit our official race page at Groom Creek Classic Race Page.

Course Description

• Scenic Location: This challenging course is located in the scenic and cool Ponderosa Pine forest of Groom Creek just 5 miles South of Prescott.
• Course Variety: The 5k and fun run courses stay on smooth pavement with rolling hills.
• Trail Experience: The 10k and 1/2 marathon courses begin and end on pavement but also wind through the forest on smooth, wide dirt forest roads.

Race Participation Details

• Registration Limits: Race is limited to 100 half marathon spots, 60 10k spots, and 100 5k spots. Don't wait!
• Cupless Course: We will have a cupless course to reduce litter. All runners must bring a reusable hydration bottle: hydration packs are also welcome.
• Swag Bag Policy: Bring your own swag bag: runners will receive an event shirt and hydration bottle. A limited supply of plastic garbage bags will be available on request.
• Bag Check: We will be providing free bag check for those who need it.

Swag and Awards

• Event T-shirt: All runners receive an event T-shirt with entry.
• Hydration Bottle: All runners receive a foldable hydration bottle.
• Finisher Medal: A finisher medal will be awarded to all 1/2 Marathon runners.
• Age Group Awards: Medals for top 3 finishers in each age group for the 1/2M, 10K, and 5K events.
