Overview

• Date: Sunday, October 11, 2026
• Location: 601 Richmond Road, Susanville, CA
• Course Type: Fast, downhill course ideal for PRs and Boston Marathon qualification
• Net Downhill: 929 feet, confirmed with no time penalties by the B.A.A.

Race Details

• Starting Times: Marathon and 50K at 8:00 AM
• Starting Location: Mason Station Trailhead on McCoy Road
• Scenic Route: Through Lassen National Forest with a 280 feet initial climb
• Final Descent: 1300 feet over the last 20 miles to Suzanneville

Course Highlights

• Trail Features: Follows the historic Fernley and Lassen Branch Line
• Scenic Canyon: Enters Susan River Canyon with orange cliffs
• Bridges: Crosses the river ten times on wooden railroad bridges
• Former Tunnels: Passes through two railroad tunnels, 800 feet and 450 feet long

Express Half Marathon

• Starting Time: 9:00 AM at Goumaz Campground (Mile 14)
• Course Description: Quick up-and-back followed by a downhill finish on the Bizz Johnson Trail

Express 10K

• Starting Location: Devil's Corral
• Course Length: Completes the last 6.2 miles of the full marathon
• Race Type: Fast and fun race

Transportation

• Remote Start: All four events will provide bus transportation to the start

Packet Pickup

• Saturday: Noon - 6 PM (50K, Marathon, Express Half Marathon, Express 10K) at Susanville Historic Train Depot
• Sunday Morning: 6 AM - 7 AM (Marathon and 50K), 7 AM - 8 AM (Express Half Marathon and Express 10K)
