2025 Keeper Days 5K Run/Walk

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Please join us for the 2025 Keeper Days 5K Run/Walk presented by the Lighthouse Point Recreation Committee on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 8:00am. You, your friends, and family will enjoy a fun 3.1 mile run/walk through the beautiful and scenic neighborhood of Lighthouse Point in celebration of our city and its Keepers. The race will start and finish at Frank McDonough Park. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

🚨 Important Registration Update

• Registration Status: Due to an overwhelming response, we’ve had to close registration.
• Encouragement: We do encourage you to join us along the race route to cheer on our participants and stay for the Keeper Days Parade starting at 10am.
• Shirt Guarantee: In order to be guaranteed a finisher shirt, you must register by January 4, 2025.

📦 Packet Pickup Details

• Pickup Dates: Packet Pick will be held on January 27 and January 29 from 5:30 - 7pm at the John Trudel Community Center at Dan Witt Park.
• Race Day Pickup: We will also have packet pick up on the race morning, but you must arrive by 7:30 to receive your packet.

⚠️ Race Day Information

• Rain or Shine: Race Day is RAIN OR SHINE.
• Arrival Time: Race Starts at 8:00am, please make sure you arrive by 7:45 am, and that you are wearing your bib.
• Start/Finish Location: Race will start and finish at Frank McDonough Park.
• Hydration Station: We will have one hydration station on the course.

📝 Guidelines and Safety

• Strollers: We are encouraging speed walkers and runners with strollers to start towards the back of the pack for everyone’s safety, and to STAY TO THE RIGHT during the event.
• No Pets: No dogs permitted on the course.
• Course Limit: You will have 90 minutes to complete the 5K: if you are still on the course when the parade begins, you will be asked to move onto the sidewalk to complete the race.

🚗 Parking and Traffic

• Transportation: Participants are strongly encouraged to walk, bike, or golf cart (carpool!) to Frank McDonough Park.
• Parking Location: Parking IS available at Venetian Isle Shopping Center/Publix (3700 N Federal Hwy, Lighthouse Point).
• Roadblocks: The Police Department will begin clearing the roads and blocking traffic at approximately 7:45am to ensure a safe course for participants.

🗺️ Race Course Description

The course is the same as it was last year. Participants will start on NE 27th Avenue and will go South to NE 34th Street then East on 34th Street to NE 28th Avenue where they will go North to East Sample Road to NE 23rd Avenue. At NE 23rd Avenue, participants will go South to the roundabout at NE 27th Street which is the turnaround point and head back north on NE 23rd Avenue to Sample Road then head east on Sample Road back to NE 28th Avenue where they will go South to NE 34th Street and go West to NE 27th Avenue and go North to finish where they started.
