Race Overview
Just you wait, because this isn't your ol' run-of-the-mill 5k. Runners have to estimate their finishing time prior to the start: we don't allow time keeping devices of any kind. The top 5 people that come closest to their estimate win. So just because you're fast doesn't mean you'll win this one.
Fundraising Goals
- Entry Fee: The race is FREE and a fundraiser for the Food Bank for Larimer County.
- Participation: All are welcome to participate in the run, but you have to donate to be eligible for the raffle.
- Donation Suggestion: We STRONGLY suggest a minimum donation of $10/person, though will always welcome whatever you're able to give.
Registration Details
- Pre-Registration: BOTH online pre-registration and race day registration are available (though pre-registration makes our lives easier).
- Closing Time: Online registration will close at the EOD Thursday, Nov 22 to give us time to prep.
- On-Site Registration: Race morning registration will also be available on-site starting at 7:30a.
Race Schedule
- Start Time: This year, we'll open the start line at 8:30a.
- Time Limits: You can start whenever you like, as long as you're back by 10:00a.
- Course Direction: We'll be directing folks to loosely alternate which direction (east/westbound) they head on the Spring Creek Trail.
Timing and Regulations
The event is chip timed. We’ll provide the chips. If you’re a FCRC member with a Tortoise & Hare bib, no need to bring it.
Prediction Run Format
- Prediction Entry: This is a PREDICTION run. Enter the time you think you'll run on your registration form.
- Device Restrictions: NO WATCHES or timepieces of any sort allowed during the run.
- Runner Reporting: We encourage you to rat out your fellow runners!
Raffle Details
- Donation Ticket: All who donate to the Food Bank receive a ticket for our famous raffle.
- Raffle Start Time: The raffle starts at 10:00a SHARP, you must be present to win.
- Ticket Policy: Each individual donating (regardless of size of donation) gets ONE ticket.
Donation Information
We are STRONGLY encouraging monetary donations this year, which you can make right on your registration form. Cash $$$ helps the most. The Food Bank has resources to buy products at much, much deeper discounts than any of us could buy. The $5 you spend on a 2 jars of PB could be turned into 10 jars through the Food Banks sources.
Community Invitation
This is a free event so come join the community and test out your legs for the upcoming turkey day races.
Event Location
