Black Gold 24hr and 12hr Endurance Challenge

Race Overview

The Black Gold 24hr and 12hr Endurance Challenge will take place on Saturday, November 18 at 9:00am at Belfry High School, 27678 US Highway 119 N, Belfry, KY. Participants will take on a 1 mile course around the high school's track and surrounding parking lot, aiming to complete as many laps as possible within the 24-hour period.

Location

• Venue: Belfry High School, 27678 US-119, Belfry, KY 41514.
• Start/End: The race begins and ends on the high school track.
• Parking: Park at the parking lot next to the track.
• Course: A flat 1-mile course with options for additional challenges at 50 miles.

Packet Pickup

• Date: Saturday, November 18.
• Time: 7:30 am to 8:45 am.
• Race Start: 9:00 am on November 18.
• Race End: 9:00 am on November 19.

Food and Hydration

• Hydration: Water, Gatorade, and pickle juice will be provided.
• Food Options: Grab-and-go snacks, soup, sandwiches, and grilling out food.
• Timing: Participants must cross the timing mat to have their laps counted.
• Porta Potties: Available along the route.

Participant Information

• Phone Coverage: Verizon and Appalachian Wireless are available in the area.
• Donations: Donations are accepted for solar lights along the Conquer the Wall course.
• Animal Friendly: Yes, the race is pet-friendly.
• Traffic: The course is open to traffic, so please be cautious.

Additional Details

• Headlamp: A headlamp is recommended for visibility.
• Registration: Day-of registration is available with gear for participants.
• Aid Station: Participants can set up a tent for aid stations along the course.
• Sleeping: Participants may sleep in their cars or pitch a tent on campus.

3-Person Relay

• Laps: Teams can run as many laps as they desire, with timing tracked via ankle bracelet.
• Team Captain: Each team should have a designated captain for coordination.
• Award: Prizes for the top teams based on mileage.
• Last Call on Laps: Timing will continue until the final participant crosses the mat.

Rucksack Challenge

Challenge yourself by bringing your own rucksack (minimum weight of 25 lbs) for this year's race. Participants will be awarded based on mileage completed with their rucks.

Weather

Typical highs are in the middle 50s to high 60s during the day, with cooler evenings in the 40s or low 30s. Dress accordingly.
