Freedom For Fighters 8th Annual Event to End Silent Suffering

🏁 Event Overview

IT IS ABOUT FINISHING THE RACE, NOT RACING TO THE FINISH!

WE ARE WEATHERING THE STORM WITH YOU!

The Freedom for Fighters 5K Walk/Run Event is presented to Mountain Home, Idaho in honor of all who are crushed in spirit: specifically, those who carry the hidden wounds of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) and Depression. This event is brought to you by the Jason Barney Family and the City of Mountain Home.

🎒 Unique Race Experience

• Backpack Filling: Participants can fill a backpack with donated canned goods at the start of the race.
• Weight Checkpoints: At certain checkpoints, participants will unload a portion of their weight.
• Final Sprint: Participants should be free of all weights at least a quarter of a mile from the finish line.
• Celebratory Finish: All participants will be celebrated as they cross the finish line!

🤝 Mission and Vision

The Barney Family's goal and vision is to bring freedom to all who are fighting hidden battles and to END SILENT SUFFERING. They would like to remind those who are crushed in spirit to know that they are never alone! For that reason, proceeds will go to charitable organizations supporting veterans, first responders, abuse victims, and ultimately, the construction of a healing ranch!

🌀 Virtual Option

• Participate Anywhere: A virtual race option is available for those who do not feel comfortable attending in person.
• Flexible Timeline: Complete the 5K Walk/Run between May 26, 2025, and July 19, 2025.
• Honoring Veterans: The race starts on Memorial Day to honor those who made sacrifices for our freedom.
• Share Your Journey: Post a picture after completion and tag the Freedom for Fighters Facebook page!
