5K Green Run - Riverbend Park

Event Overview

Join us in wonderful Riverbend Park for our annual Green Run - our race to save the environment and empower a cleaner brighter future! Compete in a 5k or 1 mile race (run or walk)! Enjoy a nature's Treasure seek that any participant may explore after the 5K or 1 mile race. The nature's Treasure seek course offers interesting information about our environment. Participants search for information stations and put together a clue upon completion.

Event Attractions

• Scenic Location: Surrounded by the beauty of the Riverbend Park ecosystem.
• Educational Presentations: A naturalist will be presenting information and a few live animals after the races!
• Fun Activities: Free face paintings will be available by Sunshine Painters.
• Nature Exploration: Participants can enjoy the nature's Treasure seek course after the race.

Organizing Body

The Green Run is presented by the Partnership for Environmental Education (PFEE), an all volunteer nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide vital resources to the Jupiter Environmental Research & Field Studies Academy (JERFSA). JERFSA is a stellar 4-year public high school environmental science "choice program" open to students in Palm Beach County. JERFSA has been preparing our next generation of leaders in environmental science since 1993.

Community Impact

• Student Involvement: JERFSA students give back to the community through various projects.
• Marine Life: Involvement in marine life surveying.
• Native Plants: Efforts in the reintroduction of native plant species.
• Wetlands Project: Contribution to the construction of a wetlands project.
