The Albany IceBreaker Challenge 5K

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The IceBreaker Challenge is a one of a kind Capital District running/walking road race challenging runners and walkers against rowers from the Albany Rowing Center. Runners/walkers will travel along the Corning Preserve Bicycle Path while rowers from the Albany Rowing Center will race alongside in shells on the Hudson River. It is also a major fundraiser for the Albany Rowing Center, helping us to expand access to rowing and to the Hudson River for community members of all ages. Come join us for this unique and exciting event at the Albany Rowing Center Boathouse in the Corning Preserve.

👕 Souvenirs and Prizes

• Souvenir T-shirt: This year we will be providing souvenir t-shirts to the first 250 registrants.
• Category Winners: Prizes from a local vendor for all race category winners!

⏰ Race Schedule

• Registration: Opens at 8:00 a.m.
• Kids Run: Starts at 9:30 a.m.
• 5K Start Time: 10:00 a.m.

📍 Packet Pick-Up and Registration

Packet pick-up and last-chance registration will be Friday, March 27 from 4-7 p.m., most likely at Common Roots Albany Outpost, or on race day beginning at 8:00 a.m.

🚗 Parking Information

Parking is available at the Corning Preserve Boat Launch. If the boat launch lot fills, parking attendants will direct you to an overflow lot.
