Burke Sunrise Rotary Strides for STRIVE 5K

🌅 Event Overview

• Date: Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 8:00 a.m.
• Location: Western Piedmont Community College, Morganton, NC
• Course: A scenic paved 5K course through WPCC, NCSSM, and NCSD.
• Post-Race: A post-race breakfast will be served.

🎓 Proceeds and Purpose

• Funding: Proceeds will support scholarships for the STRIVE (Students Taking a Renewed Interest in Education) Program.
• Target Group: Students in the bottom third of their class working to improve GPAs.
• Goal: To help students continue their education after high school graduation.
• Commitment: STRIVE targets students willing to work hard to enhance their educational opportunities.

👕 Registration Details

• Entry Fee: Through March 18, 2025: $30 ($25 for those ages 0-20).
• Race Day Pricing: March 19 through Race Day: $35 ($30 for those ages 0-20).
• Shirts: A cotton-polyester blend short-sleeve t-shirt included: guaranteed for those who register by March 18.
• Timing: This is a chip-timed event suitable for both competitive and leisurely participants.

🏆 Awards

• Top Awards: Top Overall Male & Female, Top Overall Masters (40+) and Top 3 Male & Female in each Age Group.
• Age Groups: Awards for 13 & Under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & Over.

📋 Packet Pickup and Race-Day Registration

• Packet Pickup: Available on April 5, 2025 from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at WPCC.
• Registration Cutoff: Race day registrations cannot be accepted after 7:45 a.m. to ensure an on-time start.
