About Juneteenth
- Date of Significance: June 19, 1865
- Historical Event: General Gordon Granger led 2,000 Union soldiers to Galveston, Texas to ensure the freedom of 250,000 enslaved individuals.
- Location: Rochester, NY, home to Frederick Douglass.
- Celebration: A commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States.
Hosted By
This race is hosted by Irondequoit E.R.A.S.E. (Eliminating Racism And Seeking Equity). Registration fees will go towards our annual scholarships for college-bound Black and Brown students from Irondequoit and Eastridge High Schools.
Post Race Celebration
- Time: Immediately following the race
- Location: At the church
- Activities: Music, bottled water, light refreshments, and award ceremony.
- Festival: 6th Annual Juneteenth Festival set to start at 12pm at the Irondequoit Town Hall.
Registration Details
- Online Registration: Open until the start of the race or until sold out.
- Race Day Registration: Takes place at St. Josaphats Church from 7:15am until 8:30am.
- Guarantee: Participants registered by June 16, 2026, at 5:30pm receive a race shirt in requested size.
- Cost: $30 / $35
Early Packet Pickup
Early packet pickup will be available on Friday, June 19th from 6-8pm at Salvatores Pizzeria located at 149 E. Ridge Rd.
Awards Information
- Overall Winners: Prizes for 1st place overall male and female finishers.
- Age Group Awards: 1st and 2nd place male and female runners in each age group.
- Age Groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.
- Finisher Certificates: All participants can download custom finisher certificates from the event page.
Parking Information
There will be plenty of free parking in the St. Josaphat's church parking lot. Enter via Stanton Lane.

Cancellation Policy
In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, or for any other reason deemed necessary by race organizers (ex: state of emergency, shelter-in-place, limit on social gatherings, permit issues, etc), we reserve the right to reschedule the event date if needed or convert this to a virtual event. There will be no refunds.
