About Juneteenth

• Historical Significance: Juneteenth is a nationally recognized holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, on June 19, 1865.
• Local Connection: Rochester, NY, home to Frederick Douglass, is the perfect place to host a Juneteenth Run/Walk!
• General Gordon Granger: He led 2,000 Union soldiers to Galveston, Texas to ensure the freedom of 250,000 still enslaved.
• Celebration of Freedom: Finish your day by joining us at our 6th annual Juneteenth festival at 12 noon at the Irondequoit Town Hall yard.

Registration Information

• Registration Fees: This race is hosted by Irondequoit E.R.A.S.E., and fees will support our annual scholarships for college-bound Black and Brown students from Irondequoit and Eastridge High Schools.
• Online Registration: Will remain open until the race starts or until sold out.
• Race Day Registration: Will take place at St. Josaphat’s Church from 7:15am until 8:30am.
• Shirt Guarantee: Participants registered by June 15, 2026 at 5:30pm are guaranteed a race shirt in their requested size.

Early Packet Pickup

• Date & Time: Available on Friday, June 19th from 6-8pm.
• Location: Salvatores Pizzeria located at 149 E. Ridge Rd.
• Extra Shirts: A small quantity of extra shirts will be available for late registrants on a first-come, first-serve basis until they are gone.
• Cost: 5K Registration: $30 / $35.

Post Race Celebration

• Location: Immediately following the race at the church.
• Activities: There will be music, bottled water, light refreshments and an awards ceremony.
• Juneteenth Festival: Participants are invited to stay for the 6th Annual Juneteenth Festival starting at 12pm at Irondequoit Town Hall.
• Irondequoit Town Hall Address: 1280 Titus Ave., Rochester, NY 14617.

Age Groups & Awards

• Prizes: Awarded to the 1st place overall male and female finishers.
• Age Group Awards: 1st and 2nd place male and female runners in age categories below.
• Age Categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.
• Finisher Certificates: All participants can download custom finisher certificates from the event page!

Parking

• Availability: Plenty of free parking in the St. Josaphat's church parking lot.
• Access: Enter via Stanton Lane.
