Please join us on Saturday June 21, 2025 for the Irondequoit Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk!

📅 Historical Significance

Juneteenth is a nationally recognized holiday and a celebration that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States, on June 19, 1865.

• Location: Rochester, NY, home to Frederick Douglass.
• Leadership: General Gordon Granger led 2,000 Union soldiers to Galveston, Texas.
• Impact: Ensured the freedom of 250,000 still enslaved individuals.
• Perfect Venue: Host the Juneteenth Run/Walk!

🎓 Host Organization

This race is hosted by Irondequoit E.R.A.S.E. (Eliminating Racism And Seeking Equity). Your host will use all of the profit for scholarships for college-bound Black and Brown students from Irondequoit and Eastridge High Schools.

🎉 Post-Race Celebration

Finish your day celebrating freedom by joining us at our 6th annual Juneteenth festival at 12 noon at the Irondequoit Town Hall yard.

📝 Registration Details

Online registration will remain open right up until the start of the race or until sold out.

• Race Day Registration: Packet pickup at St. Josaphats Church from 7:15am until 8:30am.
• Shirt Guarantee: Participants who registered by June 13, 2025, at 5:30pm are guaranteed a race shirt in their requested size.
• Pricing: 5K Registration: $30 / $35.
• Early Packet Pickup: Available on June 20th from 6-8pm at Salvatores Pizzeria located at 149 E. Ridge Rd.

🥤 Post Race Festivities

Our post race celebration will take place immediately following the race at the church.

• Entertainment: There will be music, bottled water, and light refreshments.
• Awards Ceremony: Celebrate the achievements of the participants.
• Festival Invite: Runners are invited for the 6th Annual Juneteenth Festival starting at 12pm.
• Location: Irondequoit Town Hall, 1280 Titus Ave., Rochester, NY 14617.

🏆 Awards & Age Groups

Prizes will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female finishers. Age group awards will be presented to the 1st and 2nd place male and female runner in each of the following age groups:

• Categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.
• Custom Certificates: All participants can download finisher certificates from the event page!

🚗 Parking Information

There will be plenty of free parking in the St. Josaphat's church parking lot. Enter via Stanton Lane.

⚠️ Cancellation Policy

In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, or for any other reason deemed necessary by race organizers (e.g., state of emergency, shelter-in-place, limit on social gatherings, permit issues, etc.), we reserve the right to reschedule the event date if needed OR convert this to a virtual event. There will be no refunds.
