Event Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
Honoring Heroes: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

Community Gathering: This will be the 8th year for Tunnel to Towers to hold an event in the Twin Cities, MN. We are very excited to bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.
How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?
Distance: This is a 5K (approximately 3.1 miles) to walk or run event.
Open Participation: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.
Packet Pickup
Pickup Dates: Friday May 15th, 2026, from 4pm to 8pm or Saturday May 16th, 2026, prior to the race starting at 7:30am.
Pickup Location: Packet pickup on Friday and Saturday will be at Dakota County Fairgrounds, 4008 220th St W Farmington, MN 55024.
Registration Information
Day-of Registration: Yes. Registration will open at 7:30 am the morning of the run.
T-Shirt Availability: T-shirts are limited, so it is a possibility you will not receive a t-shirt either with same day registrations.
Online Registration: Online registration will remain open until race day registration is closed.
Importance of Bib: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
Course Information
Fast Runners: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral, but behind uniformed first responders.
Finishers Medal: Yes, everyone will get a finishers medal.
Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route and there will be water available at the start/finish line.
Pets Policy: We allow service animals/dogs only, please leave all pets at home. Thank you.
Event Guidelines
Item Restrictions: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
Registration Fees: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.
Packet Pickup by Others: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
Donations: Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

Encouragement to Fundraise: Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page.

Registration Changes
Transfer Registration: Yes. Contact us at twincities@:t2t.org and we will manually change it in our system.
Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event regardless if you cannot make the date.

Receipts and Medical Staff
Receipts for Registrants: When you register online you should automatically receive a receipt.
On-Site Medical Staff: Yes, there will be an Emergency Medical Service team available on site.
