🏃‍♂️ CASA Fall Family Run & Costume Contest

Join us on October 4th as we come together as a community to support Columbia Gorge CASA's advocacy for abused and neglected children! Lace up your sneakers and rally your loved ones for a morning of fun and wellness. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience for all ages. Let's run/walk together for a brighter future!

📅 Event Details

• Date: October 4th
• Location: Mark O. Hatfield West Trailhead, Hood River, OR
• Race Start: 9AM (5K), 1 mile jog/walk immediately following
• Timing: 5K race will be professionally chip timed: 1 mile jog/walk will not be chip timed.

💰 Registration Information

• Cost: FREE for those under the age of 18
• Deadline: You must register by Sept. 15th to be guaranteed a race t-shirt.
• Note: Race registrations are non-refundable without race insurance.

🍳 Pre-Race Activities

• Breakfast: Arrive early! McDonald's of the Gorge will have breakfast available for everyone.
• Warm-Up: High-energy warm-up session led by Jill Catherine from the Gorge Leadership Institute.
• Hydration: Thanks to Studio Fit, hydration stations will be available at the starting line and along the course.

🎭 New This Year: Costume Contest!

Get creative and show your festive spirit in your best family-friendly costume! It doesn’t have to be fall-themed—but extra kudos to those who channel autumn vibes like leaves, pumpkins, woodland creatures, lumberjacks, or anything that sparks joy. A fun prize will be awarded for the best adult, child, and dog costumes, so bring your A-game and have some fun with it!

📅 Schedule of Events

• October 3rd:
• 4-5:30 PM - Packet Pick Up (McDonald's on Cascade Ave in Hood River)
• October 4th:
• 8:00 AM - Registration and Race Bib & Bag Pickup
• 8:40 AM - Event Announcements/Costume Contest
• 8:50 AM - Warm-Up Session led by Jill Catherine from the Gorge Leadership Institute.
• 9:00 AM - 5K Race Begins, with a 1-Mile Walk Immediately Following
• 10:00 AM - Awards Ceremony

🚗 Parking Information

PLEASE CARPOOL! There is a $5 day-use fee at the park, or you can use an Oregon State Parks annual pass.
