🏃‍♂️ Run the Recharge

RUN THE RECHARGE where the Acrocanthosaurus and Sauroposeidon dinosaurs once roamed on the trails of Government Canyon State Natural Area! This is your opportunity to run amongst the footsteps of giants! We hope you will join us in-person, but we offer a virtual option as well for those who can’t make the race in-person or live outside of San Antonio, TX. Either way sign up and help support one of Texas’ largest natural areas and help us protect and preserve these trails for another 115,000 million years.

🎉 About Our Annual Fundraiser

• Celebration: This year marks the 12th Anniversary of the Recharge Run and the 20th Anniversary of Government Canyon.
• Our Mission: The race benefits the Friends of Government Canyon (FoGC), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
• Your Contribution: Almost all of your race entry fee goes directly to helping fund projects at Government Canyon State Natural Area.

🏅 In-Person Race Details

• Date & Time: Saturday, November 1, 2025. The 15K Race will start at 7:30 am sharp, and the 8K will start at 7:45 am sharp.
• Parking: Runners MUST park at Folks Middle School here. Buses will run from 6:15 am until 7:35 am, and from 9 am until 11:45 pm.
• Timing: In-person race will be chip timed. Awards for Top 3 Male/Female and Top 3 Masters Male/Female (50+).
• Celebration: Post-race Celebration and refreshments will be provided at the Picnic Pavilion. Runners must clear the courses by 11:45 am.

🌐 Virtual Run Details

• Flexibility: You can run or walk from any location and route you choose.
• Digital Bib: Log in to your RunSignup profile, select Upcoming Events, and view your digital bib for printing.
• Packet Pickup: Pick up your packet in-person, or have it sent anywhere in the USA.
• Share Your Experience: Upload your finish picture to social media platforms using #friendsofgovernmentcanyon #rechargerun.

📝 Registration Information

This race will cap at 300 participants. Sign up with early bird pricing before July 31st at 11:59 pm and save $10 on either race. Price increases August 1st at midnight.

📦 In-Person Packet Pick Up

• Packet Pickup #1: Thursday, October 30th from 4 pm-7 pm at iRun Texas - Broadway, 4001 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78209.
• Packet Pickup #2: Saturday, November 1st from 6:15-7:30 am at Government Canyon State Natural Area, Picnic Pavilion.
