Friends of Government Canyon Recharge Run 8K/15K

🏃‍♂️ RUN THE RECHARGE

where the Acrocanthosaurus and Sauroposeidon dinosaurs once roamed on the trails of Government Canyon State Natural Area! This is your opportunity to run amongst the footsteps of giants! We hope you will join us in-person, but we offer a virtual option as well for those who can’t make the race in-person or live outside of San Antonio, TX. Either way sign up and help support one of Texas’ largest natural areas and help us protect and preserve these trails for another 115,000 million years.

🎉 About Our Annual Fundraiser

• Anniversary: This year marks the 12th Anniversary of the Recharge Run, the 20th Anniversary of Government Canyon.
• Beneficiary: Our annual fundraiser benefits the Friends of Government Canyon (FoGC), a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization.
• Support: Almost all of your race entry fee goes directly to helping fund projects at Government Canyon State Natural Area.

🏅 IN-PERSON RACE Details

• Date: Saturday, November 1, 2025 - 15K Race will start at 7:30am sharp, 8K at 7:45am sharp.
• Parking: Runners MUST park at Folks Middle School. Buses will run from 6:15am until 7:35am, and from 9am until 11:45pm.
• Timing: In-person race will be chip timed with awards for Top 3 Male/Female and Top 3 Masters Male/Female (50+).
• Post-Race: Celebration and refreshments will be provided at the Picnic Pavilion. Runners must clear the courses by 11:45am.

🖥️ VIRTUAL Run Details

• Flexibility: For the virtual option you can run or walk from any location and route you choose.
• Distance: Complete your own race, at your own pace at a time you choose between November 1-8, 2025.
• Digital Bib: Login to your RunSignup profile to download and print your digital race bib.
• Results Submission: Complete your race and submit your results via your RunSignUp account.

📝 Register Early

This race will cap at 300 participants. Sign up with early bird pricing before July 31st at 11:59pm and save $10 on either race: price increases August 1st at Midnight.

📦 In-Person Packet Pick Up

• Packet Pickup #1: Friday, November 1st from 4pm-7pm at iRun Texas - Dominion, 22211 IH 10, Suite 1107, San Antonio, TX 78256.
• Packet Pickup #2: Saturday, November 2nd from 6:15-7:30am at Government Canyon State Natural Area, Picnic Pavilion.
