Tröegs Rugged Trail 5K Run for Conservation

• Purpose: Fundraiser to support the Ned Smith Center's lands and trails system.

🏃‍♂️ Race Details

• Start Times:
  • 5:00 PM for Hopback Trail
  • 5:10 PM for Rugged Trail
• After-Party: Live music, food and drink, basket raffle, and vendors.
• Awards Ceremony: Starts around 7 PM: winners need not be present, raffle winners must be.
• Pet Policy: Dogs are welcome as spectators at the finish line and on the trails but are not allowed to participate in the race.

📝 Registration Information

• Early Bird Price: $45 for ages 13+ (12 and under: $15) until April 30, 2026.
• Standard Price: $50 starting May 1, 2026: day-of registration $55 for ages 13+ (12 and under: $20).
• Includes: 5K t-shirt, pizza token, Tröegs Rugged Trail Ale token, and SWAG bag.
• Shirts and SWAG: Available for same-day registration while supplies last.

📦 Packet Pick-up

• Early Check-in: At the Ned Smith Center Gift Shop from 10 AM - 4 PM on Friday, September 19th.
• Race Day Check-in: From 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM.
• ID Requirement: Adults must show ID for a wristband at the beer stand before the race.
• Food Policy: Please refrain from bringing outside food and beverages.

🚩 Race Routes

• HopBack Trail: Walker-friendly, suitable for beginners and intermediate runners, follows Wiconisco Creek.
• Rugged Trail: More challenging with a 700 ft elevation climb, designed for a rigorous trail experience.

🧢 Event Shirts

• Sizes: Unisex XS - XXL available.
• Deadline: Register by August 16th to guarantee shirt size.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Winners: Top male and female for each race receive special prizes.
• Age Group Awards: Top male and female runners in each age category: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

🎶 Post-Race Party

• Live Music: Enjoy performances on the DeSoto Amphitheater stage.
• Food: Available for purchase.
• Beer: Handcrafted beer from Tröegs Brewing Company while supplies last.
• Special Brew: Limited Edition Rugged Trail Ale available at the stand.

🥳 Participants' Perks

• Age Requirement: 21+ participants receive a free pour of Tröegs beer: others receive root beer.
• Food: Free slice of pizza from DB's Pizzeria & Pub, Halifax, along with trail mix and bananas post-race.
