Carmela’s Heart Foundation is honored to present the third annual Love in Action 5K &: 10K Run. 1K Walk is back this year—a meaningful and enjoyable way for families to come together and make a difference for children in need.

Schedule of Events
- 6:00 AM: Vista View Park opens for participants to arrive
- 6:00 AM: Packet Pickup opens
- 7:25 AM: National Anthem and final race instructions
- 7:30 AM: Gun start for the 5K &: 10K Run
- 8:15 AM: Gun start for the 1K Walk
- 8:00 AM: After party with music, refreshments and vendor exhibition
- 8:30 AM: Awards presentation (approximately)
- 10:00 AM: The music fades until next year!
Participant Information
- Parking: Available on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis to the right upon entering the park.
- Packet Pickup Area: Designated area for all registered participants.
- The course: Includes a 5K route winding around two hills in the park: 10K option features a second loop.
- Results: Available on-site: sign up for results via text after completing the event.
Awards
- Top Finishers: Awards for the top male and female finishers.
- Age Groups: Awards for the top three in each age group.
- Presence Required: Must be present to receive awards which are based on chip time.
- Virtual Option: Participants automatically transferred to virtual race if needed.
Directions
Vista View Park is located in western Broward County. Please plan to arrive early to allow for delays at the entrance.
- From the East: Take 595 West to exit towards Hiatus Road, continue to Flamingo Road, make a left, then a right onto Orange Drive, and a right on SW 142nd Ave.
- From the South: Take I75 North, exit at Griffin Road, head east and turn left over Winkopp Bridge to Orange Drive.
- From the North: I75 South, exit at Griffin Road, head east and turn left over Winkopp Bridge to Orange Drive.
- From the West: Similar to South directions, using I75 South.
Virtual 5K
Register for the Virtual 5K before Oct. 24, 2026. Complete a 5K (3.1 miles) at your convenience, anytime and anywhere. Celebrate your accomplishment and share on social media @carmelasheart #LoveInAction or send photo via email at: loveinaction@carmelasheart.org
Optional race kit (T-shirt and medal) available for an additional fee of $12.00, applicable only for addresses within the United States.
