Let’s turn miles into relief and hope for children in need!

Carmela’s Heart Foundation is honored to present the third annual Love in Action 5K & 10K Run. New this year is the 1K Walk—a meaningful and enjoyable way for families to come together and make a difference for children in need.

When: Saturday, October 24th @ 7:00am

Schedule of Events

• 6:00AM: Vista View Park opens for participants to arrive
• 6:00AM: Packet Pickup opens
• 7:25AM: National Anthem and final race instructions
• 7:30AM: Gun start for the 5K & 10K Run

• 8:15AM: Gun start for the 1K Walk
• 8:00AM: After party with music, refreshments, and vendor exhibition
• 8:30AM: Awards presentation (approximately)
• 10:00AM: The music fades until next year!

Event Details

• Parking: is to the right when you enter the park and is available on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
• Packet Pickup Area: There is no on-site registration: however, online registration will remain open until 6:55 AM.
• The course: includes a 5K (3.10-mile) route that winds around and over two hills in the park.
• Results: will be available on-site: however, you are encouraged to sign up to receive your results via text after completing your event.

Awards: will be offered to the top male and female finishers as well as the top three in each age group.

Safety and Contingency Plans

We intend to hold a safe and enjoyable race experience for all participants. Should anything come up that might compromise our ability to fulfill that commitment (severe weather, government restrictions, etc), we will automatically transfer all in-person registrations to the virtual race.

Participants in the virtual event will have their running kit sent to the valid US address used during registration within 2 weeks of the in-person event.

Directions to Vista View Park

From the East: Take 595 West to exit 2&3 towards Hiatus Road. Keep to the left as you exit. Continue to Flamingo Road and make a left (south).

From the South: Take I75 North. Exit at Griffin Road and head east for about 0.5 miles.

From the North: Take I75 South and exit at Griffin Road. Head east for about 0.5 miles.

From the West: Take I75 South and exit at Griffin Road and head east for about 0.5 miles.

Virtual 5K Registration

Register for the Virtual 5K before Oct. 24, 2026. Complete a 5K (3.1 miles) at your convenience, anytime and anywhere.

We provide the option to include the race kit (T-shirt and medal) for an additional fee of $12.00, including shipping costs. Please note that this offer is applicable only for addresses within the United States.
