Historical Background

• Original Trail: The "Pack Trail" was established in 1898 by the US Army.
• Purpose: It provided an "All-American" route to the Klondike Goldfields.
• Upgrades: The trail was upgraded to a wagon road by 1910.
• General Richardson: Upgrades overseen by US Army General Wilds P. Richardson.

Trail Restoration

• Relocation: The trail was cleared in 1997 and 1998 to retain its original spirit.
• Telegraph Line: Glimpses of the original telegraph line can still be seen.
• Damage: Severe floods in 2006 damaged the trail and washed out bridges.
• Event Date: Join us on August 23rd to run this historical trail.
